Hi all. Im still relatively new to Vipers/viper ownership (9-10 months), so a rookie, no question. Im wondering what people think a fair/reasonable offer would be for a used set of gen 3 belanger headers/collectors that are 4 sale on ebay right now. (Link below), and what YOU'D offer/be willing to pay. $1000 shipped? Worth noting i recently picked up a set of 3" belanger catless mid pipes (flexpipes), and obviously will be ordering a 3" catback (prob borla bc price). Also wondering, once tuned accordingly, do people feel the expense of the headers are worth it (with catless 3" full exhaust). I ask bc $2200+ new seems outrageous without RESULTS. I only question them bc they are all basically small diameter tube (1 3/4) shorty headers , so i wonder how much they better they are. I've seen big gains w headers + tune only, but always w either 2", 1 7/8', or stepped primaries and were LONG tubes . Thank u very much to all in advance.

The factory setup is basically shorty headers already, so if I wasn't switching to long tubes I don't know if I'd bother. The other general thing about bolt on parts is the typical saying of "an engine is an air pump". While the factory likely had emissions and noise issues to deal with that might have limited their choices and designs a little, I would seriously doubt the factory setup is that limiting for flow for an otherwise stock engine. Now if you start changing other stuff like a cam swap, head porting, boost, etc., then you might see a bigger gain out of other bolt-ons.

For a reference point, my car put down 480 hp / 530 ft-lbs at the rear wheels with the factory manifolds, cats, and just a 2.5" Borla cat back with a tune. I think the tune mattered more than the exhaust.

Comparatively on a Gen 4 if you do full Belangers exhaust and Prefix PCM you go from 530ish to 600ish

Anyone ever done just the Prefix PCM with stock exhaust? Would be curious to know how the numbers compare.
