I called H's office and they said that since they are now under new owners they don't have (or lost) documentation on any of the older builds and couldn't answer.
Neither do most of the car owners no what could or could not be in the car. Just a wild ass guess I'm saying the R had the buck toothed front fascia, hoop wing and rear fender kit added. WOW 8 owners and an auto check # of 26.

Yeah, I don't know how autocheck gives it a 26 when it had no accidents. 8 owners seems excessive and I wonder if it was really 4 owners transferring the titles to their wives after divorce proceedings? :)

I don't think th R's dictated the facia and wing because there are some R's without them.

The reason why I'm curious is because the winning bidder backed out because of financing, and I have a chance to buy it for $37k (two other interested buyers in line ahead of me, but I have cash in hand)
For the price, is it worth it? H did unofficially verify the car is real. Even with 8 owners it looks clean from the pics.

Is this impulse buy foolish?

That car has some goodies on it. I have seen it before. I think it might be (or may have previously been) for sale on the alley.

This is what I had on my old GTS plus a lot more for the track but it has the same meaning. 650HP pkg. The Venom was Johns trademark and Roy Terpstra with TNT who did mine called his the Serpent.

you would have to be stupid to buy a car built by him, especially back then. truth is, there is ZERO difference between the two most of the time.

john hennessey is still there, not sure of his job title, so not having the info is BS

Just like any other car, have it check out in person by somebody with some knowledge. Check for any frame damage and I would definitely put it on a dyno to confirm the HP.

I believe the 650 package is all motor, heads/cam....to get to 650 BHP. The R added the suspension mods (Penske adjustables, diff calipers etc). The body pieces were referred to as the "aero kit" and didn't become part of the name in any way. Some had the wing, some the fascia and wing, only a few had the fascia, wing and rear splitter.

Have the car checked thoroughly and if you really want 650 BHP or close to it, definitely put it on a dyno; John didn't always do the work he got paid to do......

Black GTS with 16k miles, roll cage, I-forged wheels for $37k seems like a great deal - even if it didn't have the 650 package on it IMHO. 8 owners and a autocheck of 26 is concerning. I'd get it checked out and pull the trigger.

I'm thinking that is too much car for a lot of folks, which is why it changed hands so many times.
