After hearing about stolen rims, it made me think. Does anyone use locking lugs to protect their HRE or aftermarket wheels?

I don't. But then again, my car never leaves my sight when I take it anywhere. I don't like the "lopsided" look of locking lugs.

I do, but it is probably not worth the hassle because people who steal rims will have a cutter made out of a socket to pound over the locking lug nut to spin it off, tire places keep them handy to change flat tires when people forget their key.

Because there is such a limited number of cars that the Viper rims will fit on, my tire/rim dealer talked me out of buying a set of locking nuts from him.

They will steal the car before they take the rims.

Good input guys. I have never liked the looks of them but I wanted everyone's opinion.

Cheap insurance against the petty thief.
