Doesn\'t seem to be the head gaskets....

I put some pressue in the cooling system and found the leak coming from inbetween the block and a triangular metal piece that the hoses attach to just under the center of the windshield. No evidence of water and oil mixing so I dont think there are any other leaks, but there is a pool of coolant on top of the block and the leak shoots it rearward, so Im not too sure. It shoots a stream straight back towards the firewall, looks to be a break in the silicone bead. Now the tough part, can I access this in anyway other than removing the intake manifold, is there a real gasket there aside from the silicone, and most importantly, can there be a break anywhere in the head gaskets that will keep the water and oil from mixing? Anything I missed? Oh ya its a 1995 RT/10, thanks in advance.

what you have leaking is the thermostat housing/cross over gaskets. If you pull the cowl panel off the piece below the wiper arms you can get to it.The head gaskets will leave a stain down the side of the block below the head bolts.

Exactly.......the leaking crossover gasket is a cheap fix, and a regular culprit.

Pull the wipers (2 nuts...parking position important)
Pull the windshield-hood cowell (5 screws)

Swap that gasket.........It's too cheap to save you any $$$, but consider a 180-degree T-stat now? Perfect time to swap!

Pulled off everything and called parts rack for a T stat, one problem though the bolts have heads that are star shaped (how do I get them off?). Just to make sure we are on the same page....the hoses are attached to a piece of metal which in turn is attached to the triangular piece of metal which is then attached to the engine, my leak is inbetween the engine and the triangular piece.
