For the past several weeks, I've noticed that the passenger door requires too much force to close. Moreover, when the handle is depressed, the door opens as if something was compressed in the mechanism and has been released. I hope I've adequately described the situation.

I've made sure the seat belt is not interfering with the closure and I've checked to make sure the window does depress slightly when the door is opened.

Since these are subjective complaints, I don't see the dealership being able to help me. Additionally it'll be out of warranty in March, so I'm really anxious to identify the problem.

Has anyone else had this or a similar problem?

Thanks......

Don

You said that you checked to see if the window retracts. Does it retract enough to clear the convertible top?

A number of folks have had problems with the glass not retracting enough, making the door hard to close.

Look at the door when closed. Does the glass clear the top?

Seems quite simple. Roll down the window at least halfway and try closing the door. If its still hard to close, the window is not properly retracting.
