A great part of my ownership experience with this car has been about showing the engine compartment; everyone wants to see what's under the hood of this ACR....for a high end car I was someone disappointed in the use of sloppy black electrical tape on the wire looms - particularly in highly visible areas....this stuff, over time, becomes sticky and unravels... so I bought different sizes of flexible wire wrap; after two hours I was able to cover 90 percent of the exposed electrical tape; I have to say the area now looks good. The harness on both sides of the valve covers were down-right ugly. I found some tight wrap for those.....the next item which will be tossed is the large radiator hose - which were covered on pre-08 cars ...well anyway here is pic ...

Go to your local Chevy dealer. They have all sorts of plastic engine covers. They even have hoods with windows so you can see your plastic engine cover. I'm pretty sure they even have a cover with a picture of an engine on it.

IMHO, there's nothing wrong with an engine that looks like an engine. To my eye it's when you try to make them pretty they start looking 'wrong'.

A 600HP ground pounding beast isn't supposed to be pretty - girls are.

Your opinion clearly differs but I like the engine just the way it is.

Having said that - it looks like you've done a nice job.

Have you seen the engine bay of a Porsche 911 GT2? how about a lambo? even the ZR-1, the Ford GT40, and the list goes on LOL....my complaint is about the use of that cheap black electrical tape which looks like it was wrapped by a drunken sailor...it's the same mess you see on a 16 thousand dollar Caravan....I Just think a car of this stature merits more modern materials (which are available and even used on my son's SRT-4) than 70s vintage tape you find at your local hardware store....
