With a '97 GTS (S&B air filters, smooth tubes, cats delete and muffler delete), the results were the following: 412,0 RWHP and 446.1 RWT SAE CORRECTED

I am a bit disappointed!! I expected over 430 RWHP and 460 RWT. What's wrong with those numbers???

Just for starters, check sparg plug connection.

Was at Jason Heffner's shop at a dyno day a couple years ago. Guy gets onto dyno, and before they start, he told Jason that the car was running rough. Jason and his brother start normal checks, and it was the first two things, hanging plug wires that disconnected.

I agree, something is wrong. My 1996 GTS, K&N's and smooth tubes only, dyno'd SAE corrected @ 435 RWHP.

A bone stock 96-97 GTS will generally produce 405-410rwhp/440-450rwtq. Smooth tubes and filters are generally good for roughly 5rwhp, cat delete another 5-10 and a rear muffler another 5rwhp for a total of possibly 15-20 additional rwhp and a grand total of 425-430rwhp. Heat soak can kill 15-20rwhp very easily which is what may have happened in your case?

Also, if it was a Mustang Dyno instead of a DynoJet, you will get lower numbers than expected as they use different techniques for measuring HP.

I know that something is wrong with the numbers. As an example: you ran 116mph with your moded 01 GTS rated at 430 RWHP. I ran at 120.460mph with a BONE STOCK '97 GTS. Then I moded it and now I got 412 RWHP!! It just seems impossible!!

Your quarter mile times and speed do not match your dyno runs. Your engine seems like it should make more power. What were the atmospheric conditions? Was it hot and humid?

Update!!

I ran 122.865 mph at Napierville Dragway (NHRA) this morning. I don't think this result matches the dyno numbers of 412 RWHP. What do you think??

I don't think you need to worry about your dyno numbers any more. I'd think you'd need to be putting down more than 450RWHP to turn 122.8mph in the 1/4.

Proves once again you can't race dyno sheets. Yeah you definetly have more than 412 at the wheels. Wouldn't worry about it much. For all I know, I may only have 375, but hell as long as it turns a number who cares. :D (well I would care if it only had 375, but you get the picture).
