Edmonton,
Can't wait!!!
It is exactly what I was waiting for.
The H*M*S box looks okay but no real gains. So, this was well worth the wait.
Nothing like Christmas in July!!!

Any pics of a non SC box?

If not i guess i will just have to wait... :)

I agree, colder air in the induction system will mean more HP, but under these test conditions how much colder do you think the air was?

I guess we will have to find someone to make the "Viperaire" then in China. Smooth out a few lines and a screw or two less and they don't infringe.

Is it the 18th or 19th. I have heard both and have not got around to calling Scott to find out for sure.

Is it a daytime thing or night?

In the day I should be able to make it.

My Gen 1 already has this! That saved me $150! See these "old" cars are still pretty cool....in more ways than one.

Keep up the good work Scott. Crank out some Gen 1 stuff too! ;)

RX Viper:

I have a similar setup, however, modified it by putting a plate underneath the cones. Take a look in "My Image Gallery". Your cones are to far down into the plane of the radiator and that means drawing warm air.

Jimandela,
The full scale box will fit on N/A cars. The 3" tubes now rotate in or out so the same box fits both N/A and Roe charged cars.

Wow, I guess it does work considering the dyno test. I stand corrected. Can you make this in carbon fibre to go on the Henn ess ey box?

DEVILDOG,
Would be happy to ship you a black steel one for now and upgrade you to Carbon when it's available. What is the width dimension on your H box at the opening and we will make sure it fits in advance for you.

Steve,
17" about .5" wider than the stock box from my measurements. The center **** is 4 and 3/8". Not sure how your deflector meets up or connects to the box from the pics. What about the center screw alignment issue that GTSnake mentioned? I'll take one in red plastic. Also, was wondering if you can produce a product to block the NACA duct opening that can be temporarily inserted and removed without opening the hood for rainy day driving since the Henn essey box does not have a baffle? Does the Vipermed box **** in rain that comes through the NACA duct into the cone filters? I assume I could draw enough air from the deflector to run the engine under those circumstances? What do you think? Thanks.

EdmontonGTS,

If you're interested in simply going to plastic I suggest thermoforming not molding. Thermoform tooling is a small fraction of the cost of injection mold tooling. Better yet, why not use the existing part to make a buck and lay them up in fiberglass or carbon fiber?

Injection molded plastic is in the works. We are finalizing our molds, but this takes time and is quite expensive. The ABS plastic VIPAIR™ deflectors are at least a month away.

SUPER, can't wait! Hope they will be less $$$ :)

Too many variances in conditions,Temps ect to give accurate #s,I can however tell you that your best gains will be at higher speeds.which in quarter mile terms will effect MPH.

It's brutal here in Florida right now. Humid, sticky, hot HP robbing heat..

Scott, I think you should have named it Not As Hot Air Induction..

Devildog,
the stock piece is 16.375 wide, your box is 17" so we will make one 16.875 wide for you. Please confirm for me the inside dimension of your box opening and if you don't mind can we use you as the guinepig for an all aluminum VIPAIR™ duct?

Jrkermode,
Thanks for the input, we have 6 different processes being explored as we speak and molds for various plastics are already in the works, we have our main suppliers in china working on this.

Moundir,
We have 5 complete units in inventory ready to ship for N/A or supercharged we have no dyno #'s for NA as of yet. Do you want to be first?

Steve,
The inside width at the bottom of my H box is 16.5" and at the top is 17" inside width. The sides of the box angle out slightly as you go from bottom to top. Yes on the alum. Please advise regarding my other questions. If you want to talk directly leave me a PM with your phone number and I will call you. Thanks.
