Took off sill. Is this stock except for cat delete? What is each part in pic - muffler? resonator? Car has headers, 3" pipes, and rear muffler delete. Thank you in advance. Ron.

Looks like a cat to me. :dunno:

Can you PM me a pic of the whole car? The paint job looks sweet from what I can see.

Your car has headers? 3" Pipes?...define 3" pipes. The OE cats appear to be cut in HALF (common modification), then adapted.....and that resonator does not look stock.

Btw, nothing in that picture looks like stock, well except for 1/2 a stock cat :D

Its an OE catalytic converter that has been cut in half. I heard this has been done and was common back in the day. They are supposed to flow just as well as HF cats. Leaving a cat in for "show" on our cars is a waste of time, as you have to remove the side sills to even see the cats. The resonator does not look stock, stock ones are "lipped." The down pipe looks stockish , but if it is connected to an after market set of headers, then it is 3" which makes that whole system look 3" to me.

I recently did the exhaust on my '98 and unless things vary year-to-year, that is not stock. Under the sill was just a single long cat with both ends tapered. As CROM pointed out, the small canister on yours looks to be a stock cat that was halved, followed by an aftermarket muffler/resonator.

I have the stock pipe in the garage if you want me to take a pic.

CROM is correct. [A well known tuner would take your OE cats, cut em in half, cut off the tapered end at 3" diameter, butt-weld em in, and sell them back to you as Hi Flow Cats.] This down-pipe from the headers is aftermarket 3" as is the resonator and outlet. Not OE except for half-cat.

Is that one of the (3?) Hillsdale Dodge Oreca Edition replicars?

All right, back from the garage with some more pics. Keep in mind all these mods were done in '98, right from the show room. I want to add Random Tech high flows, and something in the side sill to quiet the car down. It is too loud for my personal taste(sorry).

Car has SVP Racing Headers:

No back muffler:

Any suggestions?

Did you read anything we wrote???

If you want quieter get yourself a Corsa exhaust and a new set of RT cats. I suppose that will quiet it down some. You think your car is loud, you should hear mine! :D You can also remove those headers, sell them to me for 500 dollars, and put a stock set back on.

Please type slower, don't forget I'm from Canada! lol.

No this one was done by the previous owner.

Since the previous owner just paid to have all the work done and did not seem to know all that much about cars, I am going over the whole car to see exactly what I have. The engine work was done by Lingenfelter, then suspension and brakes by another company, then body work by a third. It has Brembo brakes, Penske adjustable shocks, AEM computer, BBS rims, and Hoosiers(that will soon be replaced). He spared no expense to have the car built. (in 1998)

If those are cats on my car then they must be gutted because the car has a very "exhaust" smell to it.

This set up seems to be what I am looking for.( All Blue ACR, I hope you don't mind me using you pic )

I don't really want to order a whole cat back exhaust system since I all ready have a 3" stainless system that is in good condition. Just extremely dirty, as is everything on the car!

Thank you, Ron.

Anaconda, I really like my Randomtech system

Looks great. Are you running a rear muffler? Is it very loud? Did you purchase the exhaust components in Canada or order them from the States? Thanks, Ron.

I bought it from Jon @ Partsrack. The random tech system doesn't have a rear muffler. It has a deep tone at idle. It's not too loud. To me it sounds like the Viper should. If anything it could be a lttle louder for me.

Jon had mine drop shipped from the manufacturer to save $$$.

Well, exhaust problem solved - one call to Jon at PartsRack. Getting the same Random Tech system you have All Blue ACR. Jon certainly is a wealth of knowledge. Which leads me to my next interesting discovery. After talking to Jon for 20 minutes today and then doing some research on the internet, it seems that this car is one of the two Hillsdale Dodge Team Oreca Replicas that were done in 1998. Thanks for your replies, Ron.

I enjoyed the chat......I now recognize that the wing, sidesplitter, and front splitter (cow-catcher) were actually PartsRack items! And I thank ALLBLUE for the referral, and you Ron for the exhaust order, which shipped today........
