No head/cam or FI.

Just bolt on's. Do we have any 130+traps out there? Or 10second runs?

Taking gen3 here, but if the gen4 guys want to brag you can also chime in.

Unless you throw in SC or Nitrous as a "bolt-on" I dont see 130+ traps happening with just bolt-ons.

All Gen 3 and older viper motors have a built in restriction plate known as our cylinder heads. You are not going to see major hp improvement NA unless you get aftermarket heads or do some serious porting to the factory heads and dont forget the intake.

Im guessing the 132 was an gen II.

I know srt's pull off 500whp with bolt ons. Im not saying its possible, but im shooting to trap 130 without touching the motor. With cars trapping 122-123 stock I could see it happening.

I have yet to see it and I race nearly every week 130 mph with bolt ons. You can bolt on all day it's just is not enough to take you there. Maybe we will see something special at Vegas at the end of March.

Our weekly "how fast are Vipers?" thread. It's neck and neck with "look at my shiney wheels!"

I think their should be a go fast list somewhere on the site.

Top 10 TT
Top 10 S/C
Top 10 Nitrous
Top 10 NA
Top 10 stock

Things that "Bolt" on without opening up a motor. Headers/exhaust/ intake/manifold/tb/tune

In perfect conditions, I think that 127 mph is possible. I also think that 11.2 is possible on street tires, maybe 11.1 on drag radials. As stated earlier, these heads don't flow well. These cars (Gen3's) stop making power way to early 5500 rpm's. 130 mph and sub 11's is highly unlikely in the 1/4 mile.

Im pretty sure it boils down to what track you run at and the weather..

Seems like on the east coast people can trapp 122-123 mph in Gen3's...BANSHEE claims he trapped a 124 stock. But never supplied proof..

So at one of the "fast tracks" with great weather and a start point of 123 mph..Im sure if you added another 60 rwhp to a gen3 for 510 rwhp SAE...128-129 mph trapps are possible..

DMAN has touched 126 mph with just intake and exhaust on his gen3. he started at 122 stock...

I just cant see any better than 128-129 with just bolt ons for a gen3 though. Simply because with another 40 rwhp over the 510 rwhp a gen3 can produce..The 550 rwhp stock Gen4's have only touched a best of 131 mph..

Gen2's...man shouldnt we know by now????Id guess 125-126 max...With full bolt ons at 470 rwhp...

Be nice to check out drag times and see

So will a stage 1 Port and Polish of the heads make a BIG differance? We talking 30 rwhp..Or 80?

A quck search at

Drag Racing 1/4 Mile times 0-60 Dyno Fast Cars Muscle Cars - DragTimes.com

Revealealed the following

-Several gen2's have touched 120-121 mph stock
-Several gen3's have touched 122-123 stock

But heres the weird part..None of them really do full bolt ons?????Their were a couple gen3's and a cuple gen2's that just had intake/exhaust and 3.55 gearing who trapped 124 mph. But these guys were in the 11.1-11.4 range with just those mods and drag radials...

Would really love to see a full bolt on and geared gen2 or gen3 on drag radials. Might be faster than we think

Twister do you ever get over to the Maui Drag strip? I hear it's pretty nice. I will be going there this summer without my car. I have a place there on the island.

You know we had the superferry for a little while and for 300$ you could drive yourcar on the ship and then just ride over to maui from oahu..

The supper ferry only lasted a few months before activist made it disapear..

So to by plain tickets to and from maui..Plus have the car shipped their by pasha...Im looking at $1500..

1500$ to for all I know get to make 3 passes..Wish I had that kinda money to chance it..Probally do it one time this year or next year..

But it will defiently be a once in a while thing..

PS...The track is notoriously slow compared to mainland tracks. My friends stock C6Z06 only went 12.2 at 119 mph..So Im just not very motivated

Yes I know this, I was looking for the best N/A times. Nothing serious like a full build, etc etc. Just bolt on's, didnt think it would be so difficult. Which we could get a guy like jamie behind the wheel of a 06 couple with header/exhaust/intake/TB/tune/**** maybe even some lightweight 18's. And see if he could pass the infamous 130mph mark.

No you dont want that to happen...jamie tried the srt10 and never liked it period. he has never had anything but bad things to say about the gen3 srt10 as far as 1/4 mile performance goes..

he tried a few times and gave up after only managing low 12's at I dont know what mph...interestingly enough..Other people at the same time with their new srt10's managed high 11's at 122-123 mph.I think Jamie simply tried to drive it the same way he drove his many differant GTS Vipers and had bad results. I tried to drag my srt10 the same way i did my 99rt10 and had very bad results. i was running 12.4's at 116 mph....Then after a solid 15 passes I started figuring out the srt10 is 100% completely differant to drive fast than the gen2's and started running high 1's to low 12's at 120-122 mph...

I really do wish jamie would have tried just a little more..With his skill we could see the first 11.3 at 124 gen3 srt10....Maybe one of these days at a private track rental someone would let jamie try their stock gen3 again just for S and G...Id love to see the results if he got a good 5-7 passes in..

OK..No more hijacking
