FYI:

I-75:
In Detroit, both directions of I-75 will be completely closed between M-8
(Davison Freeway) and I-94 for on-going bridge work. The closure is
scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on Friday and end by 5 a.m. on Monday.
Posted detour: Southbound I-75 traffic will exit onto westbound M-8 to
southbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway) to eastbound I-94 (Crews will open that
ramp, which is currently closed, for the weekend) back to southbound I-75.
Northbound I-75 traffic will be directed onto westbound I-94 to northbound
M-10 to eastbound M-8 back to northbound I-75.

In Oakland County, beginning Monday, Aug 25, the following restrictions will
be in place on the bridge rehab project on I-75 between Maple and Crooks and
between M-24 and M-15.
Giddings Road over I-75 will be closed until early Sept for bridge rehab.
The westbound Crooks Road ramp connector over I-75 will be closed until
mid-October
The Crooks Road on-ramp to northbound I-75 will be closed until mid-Oct.
Detours will be posted for each closure.

Like Viper HQ has said in a recent mail to all VCA presidents: BRING YOUR GPS!

Last month we were cruising to Motor City Hotel on THU and FRI, only to find the route BLOCKED on SAT, with CONFUSING detour signs (for an outsider)

Learn how to use GPS "DETOUR" mode...that one feature has saved my buttt a couple time.

My good drinking buddy found out from her Mom's boyfriend that coming from the West of Detroit I should be able to take the following route without any issues right into downtown:

Take I-94 east to exit # 204 Pelham rd / Southfield freeway, take Southfield south about 2 miles to I -75 north. They will force you off the the freeway at Clark street turn right go about 50 yards and turn left onto Fort st. You will go about 2 miles on Fort st. past the Ambassador Bridge to Trumball (the light past the post office) Blvd turn left. You will cross over the freeway and go about 2-3 blocks and the Casino will be on your right. The parking garage is on the side street by the party store just turn right and go down 1 block then a left into the parking garage. You can access the Casino from the parking garage . There hasn't been very many delays in this area lately.

Regards,
Aaron
