Thanks in advance for the help. Getting the mod bug again and decided that I am going to lower my Viper. Only problem is that the Eibachs for the Gen 1 have been discontinued and they are becoming harder to find. Correct part number for the Gen 1 is 2831.140.

PS - I called Eibach directly and they would be willing to do a "limited run" production - but they needed a minimum order of 50. I think it might be hard to get a commitment for 50. Anybody know someone at Eibach to call in a favor?

As I believe all posts should have a pic - here is my wheel gap now showing my custom exhaust tip from last years mod project:

I am looking at different shock setups for my car rite now. When I finally decide I will sell my Eibach's, hopefully in the next couple of weeks. They have about 1500 miles on them.
Nice exhaust tips, where did you get them from?

the site has Springs for 94-95 and 96-02.

Im assuming the 94-95 will fit the 92-93 as well right?

Eibach Pro-Kit Springs: 2831.140

Did you get an email confirmation yet? I've also ordered from them and they sent me an email stating they were discontinued. I also placed an order with www.jdm.com because they show to have them in stock. Well, no go there either. I've been looking for months. Count me in also. 47 more to go. :bonker:
You guys can try here http://www.coximport.com/ I just ordered a set $260.00 it's #2831.140 from their web site.

where are the shocks newport? I didn't see them...

I am sure you clicked on the shock link, but it didn't show Viper. If you give them a call I am sure they still make them. They really smooth out the ride with the IAS Technology. 1-800-416-8628

Ronniej,

Yes email confirmation today, ordered the other day. No word from them that they were out of stock. When did you try to order yours?

GotAViper,

Correct, the way I understood it was that kit 2831.140 is for 92-95 rt, and 2830.140 is for 96-02 RT & GTS. I'm guessing that is how they seperate gen1 from gen2.

I just checked my email and it was actually Autocarparts.com that I ordered mine from. But, I did call coximports custumer service a few weeks back and they advised me they were discontinued also. Let us know if you indeed get a set because my order will be in shortly after. :bonker:

Maybe the real question to ask is are Gen 1 parts also going to become more scarce? Also, would this indicate a bottoming point on prices as it becomes more and more lucrative to part out cars based on the prices of parts and the scarcity of the parts?

I'm thinking about giving Intrax a try!

Based on some research from this site on spring rates on Eibach vs. Intrax:

Eibach: Front: 343 lbs. Rear: Starting: 457 lbs. Ending: 800 lbs.

Intrax: Front 325lbs/in. Rear 407 ~ 758lbs/in.

Stock spring (not wheel) rates are said to be 250 front, 450 rear.

So I guess in theory - the Intrax would be slightly softer than Eibachs, and slightly stiffer than stock?

Also quote from post by DrDJ when he asked Intrax about their springs,
"This a copy of an email that I got from INTRAX on the difference between Eibach and Intrax springs:

Quality wise we are the same, Chrome Silicon, Cold Wound, etc.. our warranty is technically longer (ltd Lifetime) however the main difference is the lowering height and ride. Are designs are generally more progressive in nature and we lowering the vehicle further. In this application we lower the vehicle about 1.0” front and rear."

Based on this info - I also am thinking about giving the Intrax a try. I don't plan to track my Viper so a lower ride that is possibly softer than the Eibachs might be just the ticket!
