Been working on cleaning up my Gen1 interior. Refreshed the gray dash, cleaned up the interior, added electronic door openers and have ordered after market seats to bring the interior into the 21st century.

Remember this is a refresh, not a SnakeHydes or Venzano redo. Comments?

Looks good from what we can see, Ivory. Change the "thumb" part of your picture address to "med" and the pictures will come out larger.

Looks good Ivory, of course I got a "sneek preview" last week. Looks like you fixed the dash problem! We'll go cruising soon. Later. D

I assume you painted the panels yourself?? what brand of paint did you use and was any prep needed??

also, where can I see pics of a Venzano interior?

First of all it's not regular paint. It's a special plastic paint/primer coating which is flexible and designed to be used only on plastics. Getting the panels apart was somewhat a challenge but any novice can do it.

After recoating, just be sure and give the panels enough time to cure to the touch. The MFG says 7 days to cure, we've had humid weather and it's taken 10 days. But the coating seems to be on very well.

Lower door panels can be removed and recovered in any type of leather or fabric you desire. Disassembly, cleaning, and prep of the dash takes a bit of time, but can be done pretty easily.

The key to the process is cleaning and prepping prior to coating! Installing door poppers -- what a PAIN!
