gen 2 , gen 3 , gen 4 engine noise ???

i am considering buying a gen 3 or gen 4 viper.

i test drove a 05 gen 3 roadster with only a 1,000 miles on it and the top end of the motor (valves,injectors etc) was far louder than my gen 2

is this normal and if so what is the cause of it ?

are the gen4 motors more refined and quieter on the top end?

My Gen 3 is pretty loud as well. My Gen 4 doesn't seem as loud.

thanks, is your gen 3 louder and have more rattles from the heads when hot compared to the gen 2 ??

My Gen 4 is very quiet. Purrs like a kitten.

Gen IV also has that 'fluttering' sound of the injectors..

I have/had a gen 3. Noisy upper end. I figured there was to much valve clearence. I had the motor rebuilt by Arrow for a spun bearing. I was kinda excited they would tight her up a bit. But the motor sounds exactly the same.

My Gen III was much noisier than my Gen II, my Gen IV is much quieter than the Gen III

Gen IV has a variable cam which allows for a quieter and smoother idle.
