Okay looked all over for threads. I like to think I know how to use the search, but have givin up after 30 min.

Anyone put Gen 3 seats into a Gen 2 or GTS specifically?

Pics?

My drivers side seat is worn n' torn so thinking I could snag up a set of decent used gen 3 seats.

Good idea? bad idea? I love how the gen 3/4 seats feel thats for sure.

Thanks!

Bad idea. I had a set of Gen 3 seats for another project and decided I wanted to swap them out. The Gen 3 seats are 3 inches taller and about 3/4" wider than the Gen 2 seats. You CAN get them to fit but unless you are short and skinny I wouldn't do it.

They look like they fit perfectly but the side bolsters are way to big for a Gen 2 and you will have to cram yourself in and out of the car. I tried everything I could to make them work but ended up selling the seats. :(

I know some people have them in an RT but I wouldn't mess with it for a GTS.

It's a struggle to reach for the seat belt and you can't lean the seat forward without hitting the headliner.

AHHHHH GOT YAH! It doesn't look awful, but yeah I don't think I want to deal with that all the time.

Then next questions.

Find a Gen 2 drivers seat, or redo one or both?

Any opinions?

Try finding a salvage vehicle with 2 good seats... might take a few months and alot of phone calls but you'll be perfectly satisfied in the end.

Yeah I just don't know if its worth paying $500 for a seat, or trying to get both redone......... ahhh the pain..

I put them in mine using custom made aluminum adapters. If I had to do it again, I would use 3/8" or 1/2" at the most. I was concerned because I plan on using the LATCH system on the passenger seat. I love them and have no issues getting in & out or shifting.

Looks great, you have much more talent/time than I. I wish my car would come out that great, but I guess ill just stick with my Gen 2 seats.
