Hi, Just wondering why do you guys put headers on your Vipers when the factory ones are the best for the car? I have a friend here in Iowa that owns a speed shop and he told me to leave it alone, DON't change anything on the car. It runs the BEST from the factory. What gives? Are headers a waste of money. Thanks.

Depends on the year and your mods. Most agree if just going with headers on a 2000 and up, there is only a small increase in power, but bigger gains can be made with the 1999 and early cars with just headers(typically 30-40 RWHP). If you're going to add Roller rockers, TB's S/C etc. headers will make a difference on any car.

I have a 96 RT/10 and from my understanding the Mopar performance header offeredfor my car is the same as the stock header from 97-00 and there is very little gain to be had like 5-10hp. I was told to buy an aftermarket like B&B or Belanger instead.

The stock header are far from being 1st quality. However they do very well what they were designed for. Once you unmount one of them you will be wondering if it wasn't designed for a small Honda Civic. Unless you supercharge your Viper and you go to higher boosts it is not a good investment. 1800$ for 10hp :(
