Sometime over the past few days our 48' Featherlight Enclosed trailer was stolen from its storage place. Please be on the look out for it. Here are some specs...

2000 48' Featherlight Enclosed Gooseneck Car Trailer (48' overall, 40' on the floor)
Triple Axle
White - no logos
All Aluminum
Aluminum Tread Plate flooring
Winch
Blue striped 25' Awning
12 D ring swivel tie downs
"E" track in front and around sides (interior)
Extra long fold down ramps at rear door - Viper fits without any boards.
Interior is pretty plain except for extra flourescent lights, a land line for external power, 3 roof vents
VIN is 4FGL04032YD034678
NC Trailer plate BB16237

Scumbags knew what they were doing as they had to cut through a gooseneck lock, had to have the right hitch and adapter for the electical stuff. Trailers can be registed without titles in neighboring states (SC and GA) so any additional help there would be appreciated. If you frequent any other car boards / chat/ clubs / mailing lists, please distribute freely, I would appreciate it.

Will be contacting Featherlight, our dealer, our insurance company (yes, its insured) and whoever else, but not holding out too much hope. Trying to figure out how to get to Mid Ohio...

Thanks.

That's awful news!!! Agree that we all need to watch for it, but chances are it's being repainted and headed to a different area...however, there are NOT a lot of 48 footers out there, so maybe it will be spotted.

Elaine and I can offer our 42 ft. trailer to you...it is NOT as slick as yours, but it might help in a pinch. 317-873-6023 or 317-431-1375.

What dirt bags....I'd hire a PI (private investigator) to pull his strings and check out the DMV or where you'd get a trailer requistered. This world is on a down spiral.....

WOW...I 've been lazy the past year and stopped putting the Master hitch lock on because I really didn't think thieves woud come so prepared. I too keep ours in an outdoor storage facility. This facility requires a code access and has cameras but anybody could still take anything.

I go to many SCCA races and I'll look out for it. I'm sure the awning is the easiest way to spot it. Please post a picture if you have one.

I have a 18ft Open Trailer that I would be happy for you to use to go to Mid Ohio. I am also going to Mid Ohio and am leaving on Thursday, I have a 24ft enclosed. I live In Richmond, Virginia which is a little closer than Indiana. Feel free to contact me, I can put alot of your things, tires tools , etc. in my enclosed trailer if you decide to use the Trailer.

Steve and Bernie - thanks for the kind offers (and Steve for the words of encouragement over the phone last night...) We may take you up on them. Randy Cade offered his trailer, too, and he's here in Raleigh. Right now we are talking with the insurance company and our trailer dealer to see if they have anything like our trailer coming in - nothing in stock, of course... We'll keep you posted. Looks like the laws are changing for the better. Maybe we'll luck out and it'll show up - we've alerted Featherlite so it'll show as stolen if anyone takes it to get service (heck it is still under warranty...) And here's a picture.. sigh...

Maybe this is the impetus we need for a big honking graphics package! Probably a little harder to steal (or sell after its stolen...) if its painted, marked and otherwise graffitied

Thanks again, all!

That is one HUGE trailer!

Nothing is safe anymore. I never would have thought someone would have the cohones to steal something like that.

I'll keep a look out in Hampton Roads, VA!

Take care,
Steve

Janni,
If you need the same size trailer, you are certainly welcome to use mine. Problem is, I'm only an hour and a half from Mid-Ohio.

Ours is black and has "that" graffitti all over it, wont have to worry about this one being stolen! Even has snake decals.

I will cross reference to both Cobra forums, who knows it may show up! If you can't find an appropriate trailer closer to you, by all means call me at 740-852-5280.
