Why would that be? Did you have traction control?

Joe , after I had my SC installed in my C5 the traction control was none existant..It never came on , the wheels would be smokin before the computer had time to react.
It used to spin all the time under WOT..all the way up til 3rd gear. But it was always a controlled wheel spin. Car always stayed straight.

Well not quite always , I did have it sideways once getting on the Interstate , but the minute i removed my foot from the throttle it straightened out .

It used to be a blast to drive ! I'm looking forward to getting my RT home

Snakester, the rear end kicked out because you didn't heel and toe when you downshifted. When you don't heel and toe and you let the clutch out, it acts as a momentary brake on the rear wheels, upsetting the balance of the car. The ultimate solution is to both double clutch and heel and toe when you brake. You can learn this at Viper Days.

You always gotta "respect the snake". I've had my sphincter tighten up a few times, but never any spins. Just remember, when you nail it, your front wheels had better be straight.

I lost it and jumped a curb. I usually. make sure im in a straight line before I mash it. Although I did have a buddy shift into 2nd at 100 rather than 4th. That was a little scary.

I also experienced the back end go right out from under me.

I was sitting at a light. It was a clear but cold day. The road was clear of sand or other debris. The light turned green and I gave it some gas and made a right turn onto a four lane two way with a cement medium. I wasn't fooling around, just gave it some gas when I turned. The back end went out from under me by about two to three feet. Luckily, I was not going very fast. I let off the gas and instinctively turned into the skid. The car straightened out and I continued on my way. I have discovered that you can't think about it. You have to react quickly or your toast. It has to come like a reflex.

By the way, has anybody thought of putting some ballast in the back? Not a lot of weight. Say, about 63lbs. Just enough weight to plant the back end but not enough to slow you down. Any thoughts?

2 50lb bags of Gravy Train in the trunk. I do this every time I run at the local drag strip. Helps with the traction on a hot day, so it would make sense in the cold too? Dunno, maybe it would increase the pendulum effect of the Viperzass.

heel toe is a beeatch in these cars; far from effortless.

How are you doing it? All I do is, when I brake I make sure I feel the gas peddle along the side of my foot, then I just bang my knee against the console while rolling the ankle as needed - no problem.

I've seen other ways but this way gives me the most control.
