McClure puts 3R-Racing Corvette on Pole at Infineon

Sonoma, Calif. -- Phil McClure, driving the number 73/Aggregate
Industries/3R Corvette, qualified on pole for Sunday's running of round four of the SCCA
Pro Racing World Challenge GT series. Teammates Tommy Archer and Tim Wiens
qualified their Vipers in fifth and thirteenth.

>From the drop of the green flag, McClure went out and set the mark for the GT
pole with a time of 1:40.444 and speed of 91 mph. After improving the car
through Thursday and Friday practice the 3R crew made the proper adjustments to
give the Corvette that extra tweak to lead the field to the start on Sunday.
"It was a good run, we knew we had to be in the mid to low 40-seconds to be in
the hunt for the pole. We kept making improvements on the car and it really
came to me. The car is very predictable around the track and easy to drive
fast, that will be a big benefit for the race."

Tommy Archer, driving the number 22/c3controls/Whelen Engineering/3R Viper,
qualified with a time of 1:41.505 good enough for a fifth place starting spot.
This marks the best qualifying effort for Archer in 2004, proving that
Infineon is a true driver's track. "We had some troubles during Thursday's practice
with a motor and we have really been putting the tools to the car so I can
drive it hard here. Will Moody and I have been really in sync with what the car
wants. However, it still feels really heavy carrying the extra 275 pounds
running on the small front tire. I will have to get a good start and keep my
pursuers behind me."

In the number 33/1st Interstate Inns/3R Viper, Tim Wiens will start from the
seventh row Sunday with a qualifying time of 1:43.333. "The car gets better
every time we go out. It feels real heavy in the transitions; since this track
has 11 turns there are a lot of transitions to upset the car. I will have to
make a charge from the sixth row and I am looking forward to running in the
top ten for the race Sunday morning."

The pole position for McClure is his second career pole in the series.
McClure has a best finish of third at Infineon in 2001 and is currently ninth in
driver's points for the 2004 season.

The race will be run on Sunday, July 18 at 8:55 a.m. Pacific Time and
televised on Speed Channel the same day at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
