Installing heat shields in the side sills

Whatever their put on with sure doesnt last long thats for sure. I'v owned 5 Vipers now and everyone of them, the shield is just sitting in the sideseal and when you go to take it off it sometimes just falls out.

The heat shields are not fastened to the side sills.

I've just purchased some aluminized heat barrier to replace the heat shields beneath my doors. This is NOT the product that lines the inside of the sidesills, but rather it reflects the heat from entering the inside of the car. The cost: $19 for a 12" x 24" piece. If it works, I'll let you know. The manufacturer is Thermo Tec @ 1-800-274-8437.

I took that HP was complimenting NASA on creating a product that would hold those tiles on the shuttle through 20 plus years of re-entering the Earth's atmosphere.

I was, the Wizard needs to get out of the garage more often and
keep of with current events.
The glue NASA uses is the ultimate in high tech - heat bonding -
and was never in question.
I brought it up because a lot of the technology involved has been
translated to the auto industry.

Why would you avoid the wrap AB?

Gerald wrapped up his cats in header wrap and clamped down every half foot with no problems that I am aware of, I plan to do the same, any input?

Ceramic coat the headers wrap past the cat should cool things down considerably I think.

Sorry, I didn't. It might have to do with some of the reports I have heard on the radio talking badly about certain practices by NASA....and tha fact that Hugh can be kinda mean at times. No offense intended...that was just how I took it at the moment, I absorbed it for what I thought it meant, and moved on. I am glad that I was wrong.

Sorry, I didn't. It might have to do with some of the reports I have heard on the radio talking badly about certain practices by NASA....and tha fact that Hugh can be kinda mean at times. I apologize if my post was taken wrong - I spent a year as a quality control
chemist for a fiberglass and resin(glue) company - AO Smith -
My mind just leans toward the technical in that area - so my peripheral vision
on the subject may have been off. It's been stated numerous time before, that
the newer cars had 'glued' in insulation. Years back - there were some race
teams that had adapted some of the NASA technology in that area - and
I know the 2 part epoxy glues available are good for 275F constant with extremes up to 400F - I assume higher temp specialty glues are available -
and I was just trying to encourage thought in that regard.
I would never joke about a tragedy - and anyone that assumes such - first-
is off base.
