Leakin\' Under Load

Chicago hit 60 this past weekend and I had the GTS out. Woooo hoooo.

Under hard acceleration washer fluid from the driver's side wiper leaked out onto the windshield. Never done that before and now only from the drivers side wiper.

It didn't happen at high speed (not too high, 145) but under full throttle even at low speed it leaked like a sieve.

I drained some of the fluid from the reservoir but it still happened. Is there a check valve in there somewhere that's wonked out? Anybody else experienced this?

Re: Leakin\' Under Load

Thanks for the ideas; the washer pump does still work.

Please say more about vacuum.....I thought the area at the windshield was a high pressure zone (isn't that how the old "cowl induction" on '70 Chevelles was purported to work?) not a negative pressure zone which could draw fluid out of the tube.

But hey, it could be a less-than-ATM pressure zone but.... how come only driver's side wiper leaks?

Ain' no big thing, I can always put a little removable plug in there to keep the car clean. Any ideas for a less-bogus solution are welcome!

Dboy, follow the lines under the hood to ensure connection to the wiper, pass.side has a T-fitting tucked under the cowl. You can pull of the line at the wiper and fold over while running the pump to check for leaks.
Worst case stop over and see Tom @Finish Line while we hit the greasy spoon for lunch!
