The beaches are clean, prices would be right and the area needs a boost economically.

Would be neat for the Vipers to help them out .. IMO

Would still need a road course.

If you were looking for a Monterey area hotel, possibly the Portola would fit the bill......however we'd have to schedule the VOI 12 quite a bit in advance with them to ensure there isn't some other event taking any of our space.

They have a multilevel parking garage that would be easy enough to have enhanced security guarding the cars.

Stupid question maybe, and I don't want to be divisive at all. But is the club large enough to hold both a VOI East and a VOI West?

Not a stupid question at all. The challenge is that a huge part of the event is the manufacturer. They will bring cars for folks to drive, bring display cars to check out, and if we are really, really lucky they will bring some future concepts to see. With expenses tighter than ever, it is very unlikely that they could do it twice in the same year - not to mention making the time for all the Chrysler folks that attend.

The good news is that we have "mini-VOI's" going on in 2011: Zone Rendezvous'. Bigger than regional events, they are held in the non-VOI years and focus on all regions in the five North American zones. They are also the qualifiers for the VCA vs. SRT autocross held at the Chelsea Proving Grounds outside Detroit every other year. Check with your regional presidents where they will be holding them for your area!

Dunno but I vote for the corner of Main Street and Hillcrest in Frisco, Tx....we have a field, and a 7-11....and more field.

IMO, Vegas is overrated - and expensive. We had our user conference there 4 years in a row - way too much. I spent 5 years working at a casino in Atlantic City so I'm immune to the glitz and gambling.
I probably wouldn't have enough vacation time to drive my viper to Vegas. I'd have to fly and that would be a bummer for my first VOI. I'm hoping for something within a day's drive.

When possible I think it would be really cool if the VCA could put an Ipod shuffle in everyone's goody bag with a VOI 12 soundtrack, complete with adapter kit for their own specific generation Viper. Sorta like the list I put together for the VOI 11 DVD dividing the journey in sections with spot-on music

OH before I forget: NO MORE RINGER KARTS!! And one or more warm up laps after tires have been changed because on one stint I kept spinning out with cold and fresh rubber

Also, how on earth was it decided to offer more automatic cars than manuals at the SRT experience?? Please keep it to manuals only this time around!

Vegas rocks. You can easily build a larger vacation around the VOI event, and that's appealing to many (and to many spouses)...

Weather dependability is extremely high. Nearby tracks @ LVMS and Spring Mountain. Roughly a trillion hotel rooms, many choices for host venue.

I don't think saying that Vegas is out because VOI 11 was in Salt Lake City. First even though many would like to say that SLC is West Coast, it's not, second there have been years when back to back VOI's happened East, and third Vegas has a lot of appeal for many reasons and is a great choice.

I agree that SLC isn't west coast, but it is 700+ miles west of the center of the US (lower 48). It is ~650 miles east of the west coast.

VIR. We did the GT event there last Fall--great track . No nearby huge hotels though. (unless Raleigh, Greensboro)
