Had car on charger/maintainer since I got it as I worked on it hooked up ar the PDC post and ground post. My CTEK is elsewhere and using this charger https://www.schumacherelectric.com/products/3a-12v-automatic-battery-charger-maintainer/ here on 3 car (got them free).

I was starting and ran car on a regularly basis getting it to temperature as it sat on the rack as I worked on it.

Didn't run the car for 1.5 years since I was not around but still on the charger. Just got back and saw some ******* unplugged it. MFer. Battery was 0V as I expected that and said shit hopefully PCM is not toast.

Was going to pull the battery out to charge it out of the car and get it tested and found melted connector. It feeds defogger, fuel pump and amp. The defogger and pump go through relays but the amp does not have an external relay. All go through fuses of course.

I haven't dived into it physically just by wiring diagram. Have not checked fuses nor anything.

The amp power feed is hot all the time through the fuse.

My thinking as the battery discharged the amp switched on causing the connector to melt as the voltage dropped increasing the current.

It connector disintegrated on touching it.

Battery not out gasing as there is no damage anywhere else and the vent usually ia on the side of the battery and the connector are pretty resistance even to acid (H2SO4 in this case).
