So my daughter got a hold of my spare keys and managed to lock the car from the upstairs bedroom. I went out into the garage and noticed the car was locked so I grabbed my keys from downstairs and unlocked the car, opened it up and closed the door. As I was walking away from the car I noticed the mirror lights were not powering off. They just stayed on. So i grabbed the keys from the upstairs bedroom and repeated the steps previously mentioned and same thing.
Now the car hasn't been plugged into a battery tender for a while so I plugged it in thinking that maybe this is a symptom of a low battery (long shot I know) and they still haven't turned off. Any ideas anybody? Car is a GEN IV VERT.
I also tried the "sleep mode" feature. I could not get this to engage. I read the manual and it mentions it will do this on a fully changed battery so I have to assume that mine is not fully charged and thats why it will not go into "sleep mode." I have had the car on a battery tender since I left the house today at 1 p.m. and it was still showing charging when I got home at 10:30 so the battery must be pretty low. I'll be busy tomorrow so I don't know if i'll have time to try and disconnect the battery and see if that does the trick but I will keep you posted. Also...keep the ideas rolling in.
