Muffler delete mod question

Guys, i've been looking through some old threads about the muffler delete mod and i'm kind of confused. Is it mandatory to install a "x" or "h" in the system or are some of you just simply cutting out the muffler and installing 2 strait pipes? The correct size for the pipes is 2.5"? Thanks!

I didn't install an "x" or "h" on my RT10... I just put in straight pipes. I didn't get a drone, but you may... it just depends on the car.

X,H not mandatory, just creates a slight change in exhaust note.

cant imagine a differnce either way.....I went with jonb and bought the RT X-pipe muffler delete

Travis, I've been doing a ton of research on exhaust systems, drone, etc. I believe the H or X does help reduce drone. Also, I believe that drone is more of a problem with a GTS than in an RT with the top OFF. I notice a huge difference in my RT with the hard top on.

You will get drone with an X-pipe, I got rid of mine (HEADACHE)
