I am picking up a 96 GTS from Bernie @ BJ Motors (99% sure, just need him to confirm one last question). The car already has a new exhaust (one that allows you to change the diameter of air flow, pretty neat) and intake. What other performance mods can be done to increase power w/o hurting the value as a collector's car? Basically where should a new guy start w/ performance mods on this car? Headers? What kind of power increase can one roughly expect?

Thanks!

I'd probably go with headers, no cats, and a supercharger. Both the Roe and Paxton can be taken off pretty easily and the car can be put back to stock.

Basic upgrades that most folks do right away........

Smooth tubes and filters, hi-flo cats, cat-back exhaust.

Then there is headers, rockers, pcm re-flash, VEC2 engine controller (and any combination of)

Then there's cam and head work, then there's forced induction

Performance costs......how fast do you want to go.......?

What car did you buy from Bernie?

I didn't purchase yet, but am putting a down payment on the 8K mile B/W gts on his lot.

I would prefer to keep the vehicle naturally aspirated. I have no immediate plans to add power to the car until I get use to driving it for a bit.

What kind of rwhp #s are NA guys getting up to?
