Maybe a lightweight Viper based upon the ASC panels? But that doesn't make any sense as ASC has a business already manufacturing and installing parts on cars (especially Detroit-based cars).

Maybe Saleen having his own special edition from Dodge? That doesn't make any sense either becauase Steve Saleen has always been tight with Ford, unless that is ending and instead of Saleen Mustangs he's planning to do Saleen Challengers and Vipers.

Maybe a personal car for Steve or an exec? Likely more than anything and it appears he's using company resources to customize it.....maybe for some promo reason....but I can't see Ford being thrilled with even that type of side work on a Dodge product.

Just my opinions.

Regards,
Aaron

Aaron, as far as I have read, Steve Saleen has now gone 'solo', is not working with Ford, is doing 'his own thing' right now. Anything he puts his hands on probably will turn to gold, so it'd be good, in my opinion, to have him onboard the Viper. ~juli~

From the looks of this information from Wikipedia, I'd say Steve is pretty much on his own right about now:

In the late 1990s, the company was renamed Saleen, Incorporated. Hancock Park Associates provided an infusion of financial support to allow Saleen to grow. Beginning at the end of 2004, major shifts occurred in the corporate structure of Saleen, moving away from a race-team style heirarchy toward a structure commensurate with an automotive OEM. At the end of July 2006, Saleen opened a retail store at the Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, California. In early 2007, Daniel Reiner was appointed Chairman and CEO of Saleen. On May 14, 2007, Steve Saleen and Billy Tally resigned from Saleen after nearly 24 and approximately 9 years with the company, respectively. At the time of his resignation, Steve Saleen was serving in the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors while Billy Tally was the Chief Officer of Technology. John Spruill, having last served as domestic programs manager, resigned from Saleen in early June 2007 after a nine year tenure with the compan

1. Steve is on his own and not associated with Saleen in Detroit.
2. Prefix is doing stripes and other things and has a great relationship with Dodge.
3. ASC is out, and Saleen is doing the body panels paint work
4. Who knows about the car, but it could be another test bed for more fun things.

Have a great day!

VIPER had the lowest rate of warranty-issues in paint and finish of the entire Dodge-Chrysler line in their history. Pre-D-C it was also the same. PERFECT PAINT and PANELS. ASC held a very high quality paint and finish standard for Saleen-Detroit to try to meet, or exceed. Fingers are tightly crossed.... the S-7 (not directly related) had some nasty warranty isssues on paint.

Prefix does a great stripe job since 2005, and the 2008 specs are improved.

I guess Saleen didn't fit to well in the same Mustang house with Shelby and Roush and Steeda and ...

Fingers also tightly crossed here too ... but it may also bring more upgrade-ala-Saleen possibilities for the Viper in the future ... hmmm ... and Saleen has a lot of LeMans race team experience too ... hmmm ... very hmmm hmmm interesting

He and his crew were very gracious hosts to the SoCal Viper club on a few occassions. He really seemed to like the look of 40 or so Vipers parked out front;)

Saleen S7's were/are painted in Irvine Calif, that is where the older paint setup is located. The Vipers are painted in Troy Michigan in a "state of the art" paint facillity. No worries they should be awesome! As mentioned earlier, Prefix is still doing stripes and custom interior work.

Again, you heard it from, Crazy4Carz.Com first.
