Les Bois, Switzerland, December 10, 2002---Rodolphe of Switzerland, one of the world’s premier watch designers, has announced that Rodolphe Montres et Bijoux S.A. and Daemler Benz, have named Rodolphe the exclusive designer and manufacturer of the Viper watch. Rodolphe’s Viper Watch Collection will launch in Spring, 2003, with a limited edition of only 500, 18K gold, automatic mechanical Viper chronographs. The introduction of the Viper watch, which complements the 10th anniversary edition of the Viper, the SRT-10, will retail for $6500.
Rodolphe, who has been designing watches for more than 20 years, received the prestigious “Cadran d’Or” award for the watch he designed for Mellerio (Meller) and his “Bovet” was nominated for “Watch of the Year”. His fine timepieces are the ideal blend of strength and sensuality. Inspired by the rugged terrain of the Upper Jura Region of Switzerland where he was born and the distinctive architectural design of Swiss architect Le Corbusier, Rodolphe is an artist committed to excellence in design and precision in timekeeping.
There is a strong bond, between Rodolphe and the watches he designs. That special relationship is intensified with the Viper Watch, a fine timepiece that is distinctively Viper. Rodolphe’s design for the Viper Watch incorporates the essence of America’s finest muscle car….speed, strength, and sensuality. The accuracy of the special Dubois Depraz movement is the equal of the car’s engineering, which enables the 500 – hp Viper to roar to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. The curves of the unique watchcase mirror the body of the sports car. Rodolphe incorporates the signature Viper color stripes into the design of both dial and strap, and each Viper owner can have his own VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) engraved on the case back prior to delivery.
