We're just waiting for our host, the Aston Martin Club, to get us the final cost numbers. As soon as we get those, we will post (and mail) the registration form. Due to the limited space (and to make it easier for ACRSteve and I) we're asking for full payment with registration. Members will get a discount and first crack at registration.

The NY/CT Region VCA
2nd Annual Day at Lime Rock Park
Saturday, May 13th, 2006

Our second Limerock Day Event with the Aston Martin Owners Club
will be that much bigger and better in 2006. This is a unique
opportunity to acquire fundamental performance driving skills
and apply them on the track in your Viper. It’s also a HECK of a lot of FUN!

This event has been designed for two types of drivers; for those that have never experienced driving on a track before (Group 1) and for those who are comfortable driving faster with at least some track driving experience, but respect the safety of other cars and drivers on the track (Group 2).

All Group 1 drivers:
• Will have classroom time with experienced instructors explaining the dynamics of driving which will prepare you for the track
• Will have instructors riding with them to offer them immediate commentary while on the track as well a group leading instructor car offering the correct driving “line” to follow.
• Will be held to a maximum speed by the lead instruction car. Beginners need not worry about the high speed capabilities of their Viper (or other Vipers around them) as Group 1 will be a limited speed group. The Group 1 track experience is meant to relate the newly gained classroom knowledge with the on-track driving line, braking points and accelerating zones in a controlled environment that’s exciting, but quite safe.
Because of the controlled speed situation, cars in the instruction group are not subject to the “broom stick” rule. You don’t have to worry about how low the SRT-10 roll bar is or whether your head (with helmet) is above the RT/10 sport bar.

Approved Group 2 drivers will have open lapping. Cars in these runs groups will be subject to the “broom stick” rule. The Club will have transponders to measure lap times for all cars. Cars may be moved to faster or slower groups in order to prevent “bunching” during the session.

Our event is intended to indulge everyone’s passion for his or her automobile, at whatever speed that may be. Given the value of both Vipers and Aston Martins, all are asked to show the appropriate respect for the other participants, their cars, and their safety.

The schedule for the day includes three 20 minute sessions of run group laps in the morning and “time trials” in the afternoon. During the time trials, only 3-4 cars are on the track, evenly spaced out, allowing each car to be given four timed laps at speed. Parade laps with spectators on board are typically permitted during the lunchtime hour.

Other general rules of which you should be aware:
• Helmets are required; full face for open cars.
• Long pants are required while on the track and in the pit area.
• Lime Rock Park limits sound levels to 87 decibels.
• A safety inspection of your car will be conducted prior to putting the car on the track.

Schedule:
8:00 AM – Registration and Tech Inspection
9:00 AM – First car out
12:00 Noon or thereabout – Lunch and parade laps with spectators
5:00 PM – Track Closes
