OK, WHO\'s car in this video against a Cobra..........(Arizona ????)

This video has been circulating....mostly by Mustang guys. Even though the Mustang lost they say if the driver didn't have the bad react that he would have won. I say the Viper missed forth and still won. Listen to the shift at forth gear and watch the exhaust smoke. Plus the stang went 10.96 @ 129 mph and you can hear the announcer say the Viper went 122 mph. What do you think ????
I "think" this is in or near Arizona due to the phone number prefix on the sign at the tree. The Viper is a GTS, red with white stripes....also looks like ACR or after market wheels.

I know both of those guys. The Cobra is a 600+ RWHP 03 Cobra, sweet car. The Viper is a Roe Supercharged 2000 with an older Arrow Bottom end (Forged pistons). Both of these guys are super cool and are friends.

The Viper has gone 125 MPH before.

Britt (the Stang owner) did have a bad reaction time.

The owner of the Viper (can't remember his name now) is going to be doing some upgrades to get into the 800+ RWHP range (dynoed ~575 RWHP).

By the way that Viper launches like a SOB!

Someone also pointed out the Viper also turned on the red light.....looking at the win light, that is correct. That Viper looks and should be faster than 125mph. What's his best et ? Yes...the Viper looked reeeal good on the sixty foot !!

Don't quote me but I believe his best ET is a 10.6 or 10.7. And I agree, with the RWHP it puts down I would think it would be in the upper 120's MPH range. Heck a friend's GTS with no cats, exhaust and K&N's did a best of 123 MPH here in AZ and consistent 121+

When I play the video..I get no picture.

I have a '03 Cobra as well as the GTS, and while it is no match stock for stock against a Viper...it sure runs like mad. Ford did a hell of a job on that car. Plus, it's a "practical" as a regular Mustang.

I do know locally there are some scary Cobras. Over 500HP seems to be the norm. Big numbers indeed for a 281 V8. (I still hate those metric displacements!) And, they seem to be holding up well too. Mine's staying stock...I drive it everyday except for snow.
