NA motor.

the west coast viper PCM reprogram seems to be a good upgrade
the Roe racing VEC2 seems to be a good upgrade

Million dollar question...how well would these two work together on a NA viper

Great question, I'd like to know the difference between the two and what would work better for my N/A car. What happens after an additional mod...nitrous?

Hey guys,
On Sean's VEC 2 you will be able to add a nitrous trigger to energize your solenoids...like a rpm activated switch or a window switch. All you will need to do is make a nitrous card and a motor only card...all of which you can change any time you want. With Jason's set up it is a new program period...non-adjustable unless you send it back to him. I read something about his programming not using any adaptive figures after the reflash....I don't know if this is true, but if it is, it will never learn as you drive. What happens as the plugs wear, different driving styles...etc. He is tuning off of a WOT dyno pull, does that mean it is going to be rich all through the rpm band? All I know is, after using the retard version of the VEC 2, the advance version would have to be completely awesome on a N/A car...you can build your own timing and fuel curves to suit your car all year round. I think Jason's programming is a easy and cool way to go if he uses the JTEC adaptive memory. He is limited on tuning unless he has the car at his facility or you make multiple dyno pulls and keep sending your pcm to him to reprogram. I just think there is more room to grow with the VEC 2. Just my opinion...
Later,
Joe

Joe, that is some great info. I can keep the wife from spraying the nitrous? I can reporgram based on changes to the car? I think I'm leaning towards the VEC2.

The adaptives are only turned off by my programming if you are running something like a splitsec box or VEC add-on. The reason for this is the JTEC constantly changes the part throttle fuel curve (adaptives) and this makes it hard to 'keep' a good tune. Very big issue with boost. On a NA car without any piggy back I dont turn off the adaptives. Using a VEC2 or even a VEC1 still gives the end user a 'range' of adjustability based on their stock maps. The tuning of the JTEC gives you the base to match engine mods and putting a VEC2 on top of it allows user adjustment. They can work just fine together, actually compliment each other. Of course the other thing to remember is JTEC tuning is more than just air/fuel - it is fans, skip shift, CEL delete, and now even speed limiter if needed.
