Ok, I've searched and couldn't find anything on this. Here's what I would like to know. I've got an 06 FE Coupe that now has a Paxton on it. I've removed the Paxton to get the seals replaced. After doing this I notice that the power steering pulley appears to be cracked. In response to a previous post of mine Mark at Woodhouse says this is normal as the pulleys come that way, ie. with a seam.

Given I've got the Paxton off I figured I'd replace all the belts and the pulley just to make me feel better. Picked up the new pulley today and it does not have the crack. It is uniform all the way around. It does have an engineering number that ends in AB instead of the AA on my original pulley.

So here's my questions. The shop manual says to remove pump and use "an appropriate power steering pulley puller". Is it really necessary to remove the pump or can the pulley be removed while the pump is still in the car? And second what is "an appropriate power steering pulley puller" and where do I get one? The manual also says use "an appropriate power steering pulley installer". Same question about the installer. What is it and where do I get it?

I tried to get some pics of the crack but the attached was the best I could do. You should be able to see it on the front side of the pulley but it does run across the ribs in an uneven diagonal pattern.

Thanks

Chuck if you're on the site, can you answer the questions above about the power steering pulley. If you're not here I'll try to call tomorrow. Thanks
