I think I just made a good buy. I just won a brand new/in box
RB1 on Ebay for $800. I really didn't want anything preowned. Can someone tell me where I can get an Ipod kit. Which one do I need?

We have not had any luck with the iPod adapter and the RB1 in the Viper. The SAT is messed up when it is plugged in. iPod will work but not the SAT. There is a newer part number out but it says it requires a front plug in jack which this radio does not have. FWIW.

I put the adapter in the glove box (since it doesn't hold much else). I've heard some people route it to the center console. I just bought a dedicated nano and keep it in the car, so it doesn't matter where it is.

Talk to Dan at Viper Specialty...he helped me out.

You need to make sure you buy Part# P56038629AI, RB1... The older AD,AH versions will not work correctly with the Ipod kit.

The part # mentioned above is the actual radio itself.... the kit you need is
82208715AF (AE is fine, it will just be 1 CD behind on the update).

Make SURE the radio Part# ends in "AH/AI"(full part# in above post).. Anything older will not display "splash screen" properly.. It might say "Jeep" upon start-up. These were first used in the Grand Cherokees. The older units dont have the Dodge Logo loaded in.

Reading this post again.... YES, youll be fine... that IS correct for the Ipod kit.. The other parts numbers I mentioned are for the actual RB1 itself, which I guess you already have.. responded too quick.. you should be in good shape. sorry about that..

I just got done doing the RB1/Ipod in my car. So I have all these part#'s running through my head ;-)
