Re: REAL MEN DON\'T SELL THEIR VIPERS

Edmonton,
I agree to a point.
Meaning if I used the car instead of let it sit under the cover
almost all summer; yes I would keep it.
but have 2 little ones, ages 1 and 3 years, and simply no time
to drive it, leaves me with the sell it instead of look at it
option.

Also we are building a new home. So the funds will help.

A real man choices to take his kid around the block on his
little bike with training wheels, instead of going joy riding in his viper.

enough said.

Re: REAL MEN DON\'T SELL THEIR VIPERS

Jimandela,

Actually real men take their kids for a ride in their Viper! I have two girls age 4 months and 2 years and am very, very busy at work. I drive my Viper to work 3 days a week and take my oldest out for rides to Jamba Juice twice a week. She absolutely loves the Viper and calls it "vroom vroom". Last Friday I was going to take her in our Volvo as the car seat was already in it but she started screaming and pointing at the Viper! When I dropped it off at the dealer for the 998/999 recall she noticed it was missing from the garage and ran to the front window to look for it yelling "where's vroom, vroom". I had to explain she went to see the "doctor". She seems to like it a lot more with the Corsa and R/T cats.

You really should try taking your kids for a ride. You and your kids are missing a lot of fun. If you aren't using the car, definitely sell it so someone else and their kids can enjoy it!

PS: My dream is to have an McLaren F1 so I could take both my daughters for a drive at once. Would love to get a picture of it with two kids seats in it!

Re: REAL MEN DON\'T SELL THEIR VIPERS

jcaspar1,
it is awesome that you can take your car to work.
I dont have secure parking downtown so i can not.
I would love to take the kids for rides. Right now we just go up
and down the driveway. My wife is very nervous of the kids riding in a small car.
So they ride in the Navigator.

but i am happy to hear it is working out for you.
I will have another viper in due time.
Most folks i know that have vipers either dont have kids, or the kids are older 16+
so I love the car but now just doesnt seem to be the right time.
And having to store it half the year ***** too.
best wishes
JIM

Real men buy and sell Vipers and take their kids for rides!
How's that? I think we covered everyone

.
Anyhow if you sell your Viper, please sell high, because it effects our resale (of coarse we all have factors that dictate what we sell for). I don't know about the USA but in Canada we have no book value. So together as a group we can help hold our values higher, Thank you.

Also for those of us that LOVE taking our kids (my 3 boys, 5yrs, 3yrs, 1yr) for rides in our hotrods, as my kids put it. Here is a great seat that looks too cool in my Viper http://www.simpsonraceproducts.com/catalog/childseat/childseatmain.html
Five point and all!
I've got 2 and the boys love them, look like a real Simpson race seat.

Great forum, great people, let's all look in our garage and

Re: REAL MEN DON\'T SELL THEIR VIPERS

jimandela,

We all know you're not really going to sell your viper , or you would have dumped it already!
Everybody.. let's keep in mind that these are very limited production # vehicles that have won major races and the collector value of number matching vipers in the future could very well be similar to that of Shelby AC Cobras. What would you think today if your father had had an original AC Cobra and sold it so he could buy a bigger house, or sold it because he didn't think he would drive it very much!
Do yourself a favor and KEEP THE CAR your kids will thank you! I have relatives that still whine about the '69 BOSS 429 they looked at but never bought. You have taken the biggest step ( buying your viper ) now exercise some control and KEEP IT!!!

If God had meant for Vipers to be Adults Only he wouldn't have added an air bag switch.

Now, if God could just do something to discourage the little ones from parking their grubby little shoes on the dash.
