Rear toe link support?

I'm guessing there's limited benefit to these, but if you're going to have the spring caps changed (as I am about to do), would it be worth it to have these rear toe link supports put on at the same time???

I have to agree with SylvanSRT here as the factory unit looks very beefy and I have never heard of one breaking under "normal" use.

The other end of the toe link definetly can use some additonal support, I think Archer makes a brace for this.

I need to look at the shop manual to see what is the difference.

As another consideration, the dealer just told me that it will cost $485 to switch out the spring caps (they have to compress the springs on a wall-mounted machine). They also said they are not sure if they can get the Viper on the alignment rack because it is so low -- even stock. hmmm ???

sounds like snake oil to me JK though, I've never heard of those breaking either. Maybe in a race car it could be benificial.

I'd like to tighten up the whole rear suspension...any bushing upgrades out there?

ok..well I've been concerned about rear suspension toe in for a while now. While in the drive way I've noticed the rear suspension will toe in as the clutch is released, I've also seen this on other vipers. Might not be an issue, I'm not an expert on alignment, but it seems to me at a minimum, the wheels moving back and forth would be another contributer to wheel hop.

I'd like to get some stiffer bushings to hold the suspension tighter. I don't think this particular part is going to address the issue I'm talking about but, if I were to find these bushings, this part may then be necessary.

Anyone else have any input on rear suspension toe in?

All you need to do is go buy yourself a good OTC spring compressor. The compressor the dealer is talking about cost in the $600-$800 range but you can buy one for $100-$150. I have even done it on a hydraulic press. I believe you can borrow or rent one at Auto Zone. As far as alignments are concerned we have a drive on lift/ alignment rack and there has never been any trouble getting a viper or any other car on it. We use wood ramps to extend the metal ramps of the rack to make the approach more gradual. Sounds like the dealer has no clue and is ripping you off.

Unless you are heavily racing your vehicle, I would not bother. That factory support can brake on Gen 2 tracked cars.
