I need to run a small wire from the interior of the car to the engine bay, anyone have any helpful hints like location or technique?

I ran the serial cable (home-made) for the VEC 2 connection to my laptop through the little grommet on the passenger side, right by the heater valve. I actually replaced the grommet with a fitting, sealed it...no problems! :)

Several have run their wire for their shift light alongside the grommet (leaving it in place).

There is a rubber grommet near the rear hood latch on the drivers side, use it.

I ran the DIN cable for my cd changer through the grommet that is at the front of the passenger footwell. Just pull up the carpet and you can see it. There is a plate that keeps you from stomping a computer box (windshield wiper brain I think) just remove that and you can fish right through it.

thanks guys for the input, I used the grommet on the drivers side. I was running a manual switch to trip the main relay on sean roe's fan control kit so that I can turn the fan on if I want to, pretty easy mod and required only one wire. the wire originated near the washer bottle, so the driver side grommet was an obvious choice.

thanks again,

Ben

As you now know there's lots of room to drill more/bigger holes in that area if you need to. I just drilled another last Saturday for my new WBO kit wiring.
