Anyone know if the bolt that bolts the seat to the body is from another vehicle? I want the exact same style so all match up but Im sure if I walk in and say I want a bolt for the Viper it'll cost 10 times as much as a regular bolt. As I was unbolting to install my new Roe Racing extinguisher, I discovered a little surprise from Dodge. They had cross threaded one and it was barely hanging on.

I wouldn't even worry about one bolt missing...if you are worried about the seat coming out during an accident, you'd have to be going so fast that in the event of a crash you'd die anyway...

Ulysses,

On my 2000, there is 2 nuts at the rear and 2 bolts at the front.

Size is M8 1,25 by 25

Nuts parts # 6504 572

Bolts parts # 6503 345

Price on the bolt at full retail is $ 1.95

My price through my friend at the Jeep part dept. is $ 1.50.

Frank,You must be kidding, right?

If not,you should check if you don't have a loose screw somewhere.

Luc.

Hey! I just watched the news last night on that penny pinching millionaire. If he can do it, so can I!

You really need to spend the money and get the correct hardened bolt. You then need to run a tap through the nut or replace it with a new one. Don't cut corners on this item, since it is an important safety item. Jerry Scott [CO]

Steve,

I got the chrome one too. Looks sharp.

Jerry,

I will make sure it is the same grade. What surprises me is that the one that came off looks like a pretty soft bolt. I nervously ran a tap through the hole last night using a lot of grease. I hate having to do that. One slip and its a trip to the auto parts store for a HeliCoil kit.
