I do not have the answer for you but I bet if you call Jon at the Parts Rack he will know the answer. Please let us all know. I will tell you this, I have bought a lot of product from Snake Oyl and I called their Tech people last Thursday and left my phone number. I still have not heard back from them. Not good in my humble opinion. I know that Jon includes a video of the Team tech install when you buy the harness from him.

DONT Choose A lifesaving HARNESS for the $2 Viper logo, altho we can add them to the TeamTechs. (They cover up the rotary buckle instructions)

You can remove the TT logo if you like......

Jon,

That is the best advice I have heard in a long time. Your life depends on top quality belts. that is why I posted above to call Jon at the parts Rack as he has a ton of experience with these harnesses.

the antisubmarine(crotch) belts will hang over the front of the seat when not in use,or rest on the passenger seat when not in use. i have them with stock seats and they mount to solid mounting points(bolted into frame)

Flash,

Call JonB at PartsRack. The Teamtechs are the way to go.

The two anti-submarine belts attach to the sides of the body at the same point that the side "lap" belts attach. They run up under your legs and attache to a center section. This section contains the cam lock attachment point for all of the belts. You actually sit on the AS belts while driving though you won't feel them if they are properly adjusted. I remove the anti-submarine belts center section for the street but leave the lap belts and the rear section of the AS belts in.

The top two shoulder belts fit through the holes in the upper back part of your seat and attach behind the seat. There are a couple of small plastic parts that will have to be removed behind the seats in order to install the upper belts. I just leave them out but you can re-install them after you remove the upper belst.

I'd go with the six points too.

I have these installed in all three cars. If you can make our next run, you can get a look.

I am thinking about getting the team tech.

A question--How much time does it take to get in and out of the team tech. Do you use them just for racing and stock belts for everyday driving? If you do use the stock belts some how difficult is it to move the team tech out of the way?

I know the TT would increase the safety factor but if you have them on the passenger side - well I don't think that would go over with my wife as a passenger. I can see her now trying to get in and out of the TT. Hey-Just a thought-that may be fun to help her get in and out of the harness. I may call Jon right now and put in a order. ;)

The two upper belts of the six-point teamtechs can be tucked away behind the sides of the upper portion of the seat. The two lap belts can also be tucked to the sides of the seat (near where the seat belt latch assembly is and where the seat rake angle lever is). The final crotch belt can just be left hanging down on the floor or tucked under the seat.

I LOVE THIS POST! Answers Follow, but: As a licensed Pace Car Driver I have belted in probably way more than 1000++ people for Viper (and SOB) Pace Car rides. Belting the LADIES -regardless of age- can be a very fun and flirty event...or it can be a ******-harasssment case waiting to happen! I could tell you some stories.....including a photo-op with a Michelin Calendar model at VOI-1 who wore ONLY the 5-pt harness in my red RT ! (I fumbled with those belts a while). ANSWERS:

You will probably spend 10 minutes the first time FINE TUNING the belt adjustments due to your seat and tilt and hand position. Thereafter it takes about 30 seconds to buckle up the ROTARY TEAM TECHS. [the old latch-link were fumbley a PAIN!] The buckle accepts belts in any order. Install loosely, and then tug tight. 30 seconds. After lap one, TUG EM AGAIN on the front straight as you will have settled into the seat.

Removing them takes 5 seconds...[ or 1 second if the car is inverted and/or burning. Crash-Tested. ] I usually LOOSEN each belt first, to make it easier to get back in again. Twist the buckle either direction and they all POP out.

A 2nd harness is URGENTLY SUGGESTED when U have on-track passengers or instructors. GIVE THEM YOUR SAFETY LEVEL ! STOW the harness for street driving, as it is illegal in all 50 states to use ONLY this harness ! You must (also) use the intertia-reel OE belt to be 'legal.' Some choose matching FOUR POINTS in the passenger seats, for ease of install, operation, and cost.

When I take long road trips I usually wear my harness loosely, so I can reach the radio, Valentine One, and cell phone. They will SAVE YOUR LIFE and greatly minimize injuries. But they can be stowed as many have described above.

Commercial: Team Tech is a SYSTEM that can be RE-CERTIFIED as needed, every 2,3,5 years as your sanctioning body requires. YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY NEW ONES ! Saves 40-60% of new cost. We have unpadded harnesses in 7 colors and contract stich from $149 /4pt, to $189 6pt. Fully padded versions add $100. Both Tommy and Bobby Archer will tell you that PADDED harnesses significantly minimize skin and organ damage...while saving your life. Back when 1998-2000 OE harnesses were federally recalled, and parts were unavailable for 1.5 YEARS, PartsRack was the ONLY vendor that D-C allowed to do warranty replacements, and customers were reimbursed for our harneses. We DO know Viper harnesses....and we were instrumental in getting Team Tech as the primary vendor for the Viper Comp Coupe 7pt factory harness........ Thank You.

Jon

A funny and very informative post which is why I told everyone to call you.

I have a question, Do the shoulder belts of the 4 point harness snap into the rotary release or are the two shoulder belts sewn to the lap belt like drag racers used to use?

Great job again!

I can only second the "padded" shoulder belt recommendation. If you strap in tightly as you should and if you drive test and tune on Friday and then drive 2 days of Viper Days or any other event, you will be sore if you don't go with the padded shoulder belts. Don't skimp on this one or you will be sorry.

I have the Team Techs in my GTS(from Jon B) and love them. Once you have them adjusted to your fit they are a snap (pun intended) to get in and out of. Just remember to have your door partially closed before you strap in or you won't be able to reach it to pull it shut. I've done that a few times. When not in use I pull the shoulder straps with chest pad back through the seat back and out of the way. The AS straps hang forward so that the turn buckle hangs down in front of the seat and out of the way.

The opennings in the seat back on the SRT are much more restrictive and surrounded by plastic which would make it difficult to pull the chest pads back through. I have a set for my SRTC but have not installed them yet.

Bob K,

You're right on the TT in the SRT. The buckles are so large, the you cannot simply pull the shoulder belts through the holes in the seat. I just take them off of the rear attachment points and pull them through to the front. I store them in a bag in my garage.

In the GTS, they will slip though the large hole in the upper seat and store behind the seat.
