Shift points, @ what RPM\'S?

What do you guys usually shift at? 4500? the Rockers I have suggested not to take it > 5500.... But I've found droppin it at 4K was enough to move it pretty well..... and I can't wait to take it to SacRaceWay.... you guys think with my mods I might be able to snag anything in the 11's? Thanks!

GTS,
I shift @ 5200 under NA and 4200 under NOS, ran the viper on a Dyno and came out with the sift points.
Times 11.9 NA / 11.5 NOS (No grip from the pilots)

Gen 1, Usually at 5000.
Dyno also lowered my shift points, I used to scream it to 6K...

At Viper Days, it is recommended to shift at or before 5200. Keep in mind, some laps on some tracks are almost like 12 dyno pulls - every lap! I did 63 laps in one day at my last event, the Finals.

I shift mine at 6200.....I turn the shift light on at 6000.
When mine was stock I turned as far as I could in low. That made it the quickest. GB3

Re: Shift points, @ what RPM\'S?

Make a couple of baseline runs shifting at a given RPM. Subtract your 60' time from your 1/8 mile (660') time to arrive at your 600' time.

Then change your shift points and see if your 600' time (660' - 60') gets better or worse. (You'll shift at least twice in that next 600' after you've gone the first 60'.)

Your shift point RPM will be the primary factor in a + or - change in your 600' time if you don't change anything else on the car while you're testing,
