I have 1994 R/T. I am interested in maybe having Koni refurbish my Shocks. What I am curious about is the model number of the shocks that came on the Viper. When looking them up on the Koni web site they don't show any for the Viper. Koni offers services such as adding the adjustable collar for ride height and adjustable damper but only for certain model shocks. Would anyone here no the model Number of the 1994 shock. Thanks everyone

I'd be curious how they add the adjustable collar, since the welded on spring "hat" is larger diameter than the threaded shock tube. Here's what I did.

Start with original:

Cut to smaller diameter:

And add a spring cap that you can pin so it won't fall out if the spring is unloaded:

And then assemble:

The new hat has holes to tie wrap to the spring and the pin keeps it centered on the shaft. I went with the "softer" ACR springs of 550 front, 800 rear. The springs were 8" long if I remember right. It's not as much stiffer as it looks, but nicely flat in corners and not bad on rough roads (And I have aluminum seats with almost no padding.) If you can do the machining, the parts aren't bad; Afco sells a threaded tube shock kit for maybe $60 per shock?

This will show the bottom of the shock - the adjusting sleeve.

I didn't remove the lower spring seat for the factory spring, although I should have. By cutting down the upper seat, you can't undo this mod.
