Wow. Not sure I would win but I would bet him in a race to the quarter and back. And of course I would make the turn around area very tight.

God that acceleration has to be exhilarating.

Zero Celica. Zero Toyota. Take off the body, slap a Civic shell on it and voila, fastest Civic. Funny car.

Kudos for the effort though! I'd love to drive it....

Howdy!

True it's a carbon body, tube frame, custom tranny, etc., that has -zero- in common with a Celica, however there is some Toyota technology powering it :^)

It's using a 2JZ Supra motor - 3.0L, built (they *might* be running one of the stroker kits so it could be 3.2 or 3.3L) - and of course HUGE amounts of boost! Not like the motor would be streetable with the massive lag, massive turbo, etc., but stil a pretty impressive effort.

Titan built my Supra back when, pretty good guys, and they've really made a mark in the import drag scene.

That was epic.

That is the quickest 6 cylinder I've ever seen - very cool, and I think that would take out the quickest Skyline powered run. Both the Skyline 2.6 and the Toyota 3 litre engines are capable of about the same power - both very very good engine designs.

I really look forward to getting my teeth into a racing turbo setup as when we used a blower - it took 494 cubes of V8, and 54psi boost on Methanol to run slower than that Celica.... that car now runs 6.63 with some upgrades, but back when I was involved the best we ever saw was 6.8's.

Ron - a good driver would have you covered in that Celica there and back.... he'd only need to go 1/8 mile (where he'd get to around 175mph) then hit the stoppers...

those things can turn on a dime if you are brave enough. Mark Holland, the doorslammer owner I crewed with - has done multiple donuts for the fans - round and round - with 3000hp screaming - the fans go wild, you have to see it to believe it!!! :headbang: Get it wrong though and you hit the guard rail :smirk:

But the fastest Skyline (the HKS car I believe) is far much more Skyline though. Although there obviously is a lot of HKS bits on it! I used to own a Skyline back in the UK but only with a modest 460bhp.
