PS definately the 08 have NOTHING under 3 grand and then look out.

Joe I can really feel the power come on over about 4800 rpms all the way to the shift light. I think under 4500 it feels good but over that and it really comes on and I think on a really cool day with a really good pass I think the car could get in the 10.7's at about 132mph. To get that close to the 10's on an 83 degree day and the consistency of the passes really impressed me with the car, but I think the car would of been perfect if they would of put 3.23 gears in it.

No I haven't! Even though I have seen 10's in perfect weather on a perfect run in my Z06 I believe as I have said before after seeing what Evan ran in your car, on the same day in the same weather the Viper is 2 or 3 tenths and 2 or 3 mph faster than Z06. I believe if the Viper had better gearing it would be even more dominant than that with as much HP as it has.

Jamie how about your Ford GT verses the ACR -both stock.

Stock to stock the ACR is faster in the 1/4 mile, from a roll it would be close until about 100 mph and then the GT would start pulling away IMO.
The Ford GT is a harder car to launch than the Viper IMO

Ive had a 99 Viper with filters and roller rockers and a 2003 Viper that had filters and roller rockers..

The 99 RT10 dynoed 428 rwhp and the 2003 SRT10 dynoed 459 rwhp..Both on the same dynojet and both SAE corrected...

I trapped 115-118 mph in the RT10 and I trapped 117-120 in the SRT10...

even though I do admit that my RT10 "felt" much faster and more violent on the low end the best 0-60 I ever got was a 4.2..

On the other hand the "slower feeling" SRT10 was able to lay down 0-60 mph in 4.0...

The point of this is that the SRT10 is faster thana GTS/Rt10 gen2..

But with 17 or 18 inch tires on the gen2's and the Violent low end feel they can get out of the hole really well and run an 11.9 at 119 mph...while an SRT10 with it's taller 19 inch tires will run the same 11.9 but at 122 mph..

so while the same ET on the 1/4 mile..

PUT THEM SIDE BY SIDE AT 50 MPH AND LET THEM BOTH PUNCH IT TILL 140 MPH..THE SRT10 WILL BE A SOLID 3-4 CARS AHEAD

I have had 6 different GTS's over the years all bone stock every car ran at least 11.6's the best being an 11.59 at between 121 and 123 mph on the best runs and the only SRT10 I owned a 2003, I couldn't get it in the 11's although I only made about 3 total passes and the best mph I was able to attain was 118 so I didn't find that to be true.

I have both a 2000 GTS and a 2006 SRT and both are stock. The GTS would waste the SRT, period. From a roll, the SRT might win since it would be out of its "dead spot" in the low end. From a dead stop, the GTS would win easily.

Well..What can I say...I read many post like this and wasnt expecting my srt10 to be faster. I wanted it for the looks and interior...To my surprise it was much faster mod for modd...

but the srt10 was much harder to learn than my 99 rt10...my first runs in the srt10 were high 12's..my first runs in my 99 rt10 were mid 12's..but once i mastered them both after 30 plus runs...the srt10 was a bit faster.

however i will say this....my srt10 was a arrow rebuild..and i suppose 459 rwhp SAE with only filters and roller rockers is pretty decent..so maybey i got lucky and got a strong one..

but Jamie. their have been more than enough mags getting 122 mph trapps and more than enough owners getting 122 mph trapps to let you know the car can trapp much higher than your 118 mph trapps. No offense ment..But 118 mph for a SRT10 is VERY low..Did you dyno the vehicle?

Your probably right, I just wasn't that impressed with the SRT and thats why I didn't put in the time to improve or I am sure I would have. I have watched many , many Stock SRT's run (pre 08) and have never seen one run better than 120mph and most were running 116 to 118 mph. I am sure some have run better but 118 is not very low its very average IMO.

The above illustrates just how much difference a great driver can mean as a GEN 2 trapping 118-120 mph with Furman or Smith behind the wheel is running 11.6-11.7 (the day Smith ran the 11.7 in the stock GEN 2 his mph was around 117 ).Those guys can miss a gear and run low 12s in stock Gen 2s

Jamie (or anyone else with an '08), do you ever have any problems with the 2nd-3rd shift grinding? If I shift quickly my ACR goes into gear, but crunches a bit.

I'm hoping the clutch just needs bleeding, as there is quite a bit of dead-play in the top of the pedal, and some '08s have needed their clutch bled.

Fair Enough....Ill let it go but heres my final thoughts...

- THE SRT10 is weaker feeling down low but faster up top

-The GTS is stronger feeling down low but weaker up top

-The SRT10 hits 0-150 mph in 19.5 seconds

-The GTS hits 0-150 mph in 21.0 seconds

-The SRT10 tops out at 194 mph

-The GTS tops out at 191 mph

-The SRT10 will run the road course in 2:20 seconds

-With the same driver the GTS will run the same course in 2:22 seconds

For all statistics that have ever been published for each the SRT10 is the faster vehicle..

* But with all that said..The GTS is just a much easier car to put the power down in and it's not uncommon to see GTS's and SRT10's running similar times...Ill verify this shortly..

OVERALL THE SRT10 IS JUST A L-I-T-T-L-E FASTER IN THE 1/4 MILE..BUT A BIT FASTER AT EVERYTHING ELSE...

WITH THAT SAID IF THE GTS HAD THE INTERIOR OF THE SRT10'S I WOULD GET ANOTHER ONE IN A HEART BEAT...BUT AFTER EXPERIANCING THE INTERIOR OF THE SRT10 IT'S HARD TO GO BACK TO A GEN2...SO A GEN4 IS IN MY FUTURE ONCE I SELL MY CRAPPY NSX...

There are a few people missing off the GTS fast list....One guy posted in this thread already and the other was Mike Brunton if memory serves....I vaguely remember Mike saying he ran an 11.6 but forgot what mph he said he hit...Im going way back in the early 2k's with this one....

...AS THIS LIST DEMONSTRATES THE LOWEST MPH FOR THE GTS WAS 116 MPH WHILE THE LOWEST FOR THE SRT10 WAS 118 MPH..........THE HIGHEST FOR THE GTS WAS 121 MPH WHILE THE HIGEST FOR THE SRT10 WAS 123 MPH....

Twister you do know that a GTS has run an 11.6 @ 123mph bonestock? Also comparing lowest/highest mph when its this close between the two doesnt mean a thing. Too many variables to even begin to use that data as any empirical proof of anything. Your list is nice as a conversation piece nothing more. Same day, track, driver etc would be more meaningful. Same car that trapped 123mph one day would only do 120 another day depending on conditions so taking random times from different days dont mean anything really. Head to head same day is where its at..

Burtons car was not stock (no cats ).I believe Jamie Furman has run 11.5 in a bone stock Gen 2 .As far as Smith i was at the test session where he ran the 11.7 in the roadster

All I trying to convey is that stock for stock the SRT10 trapps 1-2 mph higher than a GTS on the same day at the same track with the same driver...

But with an extra 40 rwhp.. ( 400 rwhp for the GTS and 440 rwhp for the SRT10) it should be a solid 3 mph higher in trapp speed..

the 19 inch tires are much to blame..19 inches and 3.07's is overkill

and makes it VERY close...

If you have a guy trapping 118 mph in a GTS and hitting a 1.8 60 ft and a guy in an SRT10 trapping 120 mph and getting 2.0 60 fts...The end result will be a similar ET or GASP..the GTS ETing lower..

But come on!!!!!!!

you can have a guy in a 2003 srt10 trapping 121 mph and getting 1.8 60 fts and running a 11.8 while a guy in a C6z06 is trapping 125 mph but getting 2.1 60 fts and only running an 11.9...So the SRT10 would be faster..Hell no....what ever car trapps the highest on average is the faster car..with the right driver that125 mph trapping c6z06 would run an 11.5

Same thing holds true for the gts..it can ET with the best of them..but I beleave the mph to usually be in the 117-119 mph range. and 119 mph for a stock GTS being pretty darn good.

Heres another comparison i did of the SRT10 viper against the C6Z06...

HMMMMM...

http://www.motortrend.com/features/s...12_0306_spdint
2003 Motor trend speeding shoot out.
.03 SRT10 vert=11.7 at 123
VS 2003 Z06=12.4 at 116

dayum what a smoking

Audi R8 vs. Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe, Porsche Turbo - Supercar Comparison Test with VIDEO - Popular Mechanics
2007 popular mechanics
SRT10 coupe=12.1 at 121.2 mph=lap=1.15.59
VS C6Z06=12.0 at 120.9 mph =lap=1.15.74

looks like the 1/4 mile was very close with the SRT10 trapping a lil higher and being a little faster on the road course

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...s_pricing.html
2007 MotorTrend
SRT10 coupe=12.1 at 120.9 mph=Lap=24.4
VS C6Z06=11.7 at 125.2 mph=Lap=24.8

Looks like the C6Z06 dominated at the strip but again the Viper was a lil quicker around they're course

http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...2&Profile=1008
Autoweek
SRT10 coupe=12.3 at 117 mph=Lap=46.8 mph
VS C6Z06=12.0 at 121 mph=Lap=45.6 mph

Again the C6Z06 beats the SRT10 handily at the strip but is a lil slower through the slalom

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...7/pageId=67637
Edmonds american exotics
SRT10 coupe=12.6 at 117 mph =Lap=133.30
VS C6Z06=12.0 at 123 mph=Lap=133.04

Man the C6Z06 just dusted the viper at the strip this time..But look at those track times. Pretty impressive that a car that was significantly slower at the strip was within 2 tenths of the Z06..Wonder wich one handles better?

http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/d...owersTrack.pdf

This time The C6Z06 barely edges out the SRT10 vert in the quarter mile with a 12.2 at 118 VS the Vipers 12.3 at 116 mph...But on the road course they both pull 1.19.5 second lap times..The review then says that they preferred lapping the SRT10 vert over the C6Z06 due to it track mannerisms

http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews...per/stats.html
Automobile
SRT10 coupe =12.4 at *** mph=lap=1.33.95
VS C6Z06=12.0 at *** mph=Lap=132.75

Finally the c6Z06 beats the SRT10 by 1.2 seconds around a road course...So out of the "HEAD2HEAD"reviews I could find..Viper3...Vette2...and 1 tie...So please just remember that the next time you wanna say how the "old" SRT10's cant handle...Well theve proven the be faster than your C6Z06 more than one half the time during head to head comparisons around the road course/slalom...

Again not starting a war brother..But saying you ran a 123 mph trapp in a GTS and a 118 mph trapp inan SRT10 just seems wrong when it's been the opposite for most mags and owners...

Especially when you have set so many records in other vehicles..

I really wish you would rent/borrow a stock gen3 and try your best..

If anything just to have a great representation of how much faster a gen4 is than a gen3...

I can tell you right now that 3390 pounds and 440 rwhp going to 3390 pounds and 540 rwhp isnt gonna make you go from trapping 118 mph in a gen 3 to 130 mph in a gen 4..

Somthing had to be wrong with your SRT10..

Hell with your driving you should be able to touch 118 mph trapps in a C5Z06...

and a SRT10 gen 3 is significantly faster than those...

Correct me if i am wrong but didn't the GTS have normal rubber compared to the GenIII run flats. I don't have to tell anyone with any drag racing experience what a handicap that gives the genIII
