Well, i did a little digging to answer my own question.

While most stock SRT-10s typically dyno around 435-438 rwhp (and much higher torque) ... here were some stock Z06 numbers that I found on another forum:

"(forum vender) called me today with my dyno #'s before all the mods they are doing over the next week. RWHP was 457 (max at 6400) and RWTQ was 429 (max at 4800). I think they are good #'s, but let's see what happens next week."

Now granted I don't know what kind of dyno that was, but other posts said 450+ rwhp was typical for a stock Z06. That equates to about 525+ HP at the crank.

... So, a couple of things: First, GM clearly low-balled the claimed HP on the Z06 (wake up DC). Second given the claimed relative crank HP (505 vs. 510), it would seem that the SRT-10 is losing more in the drive-train (i.e. too much rotational mass).

I would have guessed 445 hp as the average from those I have seen or heard of for the SRT.

... might vary based upon dyno equipment

Absolutely. I am assuming this is a Dynojet based assessment.

Something that may play in this is the HEAVY wheels and tires on the SRT, which reduce the measured hp on a Dynojet. More drivetrain inertia = lower measured performance on a Dynojet.

I would also assume that the engine hp numbers for each are accurate as both were 3rd party certified.

GR8 ASP is right. The HP numbers were all reverified according to the new testing requirements. The difference must be attributed to either a funky dyno or the drivetrain on the ZO6s is crazy-light.
