I am experiencing this strange problem. When I start my car cold (in the garage where it sat for a while) the starter goes ok without a glitch. When on the road and the car is hot the starter makes one spin, then it sort of waits and then spin again and the car starts (immediately). It's like the battery would go dead but because it starts cold ok I don't think it's a battery because it wouldn't start cold in the first place, right? Anyone with similar issue? Should I change the starter or is it something else? I have 05 vert.

What type battery do you have? If its an Optima Redtop, throw it away. I'm on my 3rd one in a year and a half! They have a 3 year free replacement warranty, so I'll keep swapping it out until that warranty is up. After that, never buying an Optima for the Viper again! To be fair, I have an Optima in my DD and its been great for 2 years
