I just got back from testing my new back brakes. The difference is very noticeable. The car stops with less effort and a more positive feel. A very worthy upgrade in my opinion.
P.S. Tom I will send back the calipers this weekend.
Thanks. :2tu:

Two questions:

Did you use the 38's or 40's?

Did you modify the proportioning valve?

Thanks!

40's with no modification. I just got back from some high speed stops 100 to 25-30 and all I can say is they work great!
Thanks again Tom.

You might try eliminating the proportioning valve...I did and feel the additional rear braking was even better I also have the 40 mm rear calipers from Tom).

No rear wheel lockup before fronts and I track the car.

I agree with all the positive comments about this brake upgrade. I installed the 40mm calipers around mid September. There is noticeable difference in stopping power. Much more pedal before front lock up. I was hoping to get to a track before snow, but that's not going to happen. My prop valve is still in, but I plan on experimenting with this next year. I am as pleased with this as any of the other things I've done....which includes headers,exhaust,flywheel,gears,VEC1, and a few more. It's nice to make the sound good and go a little faster, but it's just as important to stop it quicker with a little more pedal control.

Hi Ron,

That's the plan. Time will tell. Seems to me you were holding me up last year at Gingerman ......or was there someone in front of you holding you up? ;-)

Looks like we might get a little tour in this Saturday. Could be the last. We've had snow already with more coming.

These rear brakes rock for our non-ABS Gen IIs!

I run mine with stock proportioning valve, may try removing it next season...

We need to organize some sort of test for this break upgrade. Have not purchased a set yet, but it sounds like it works great.

some 60-0, and 100-0 distance would be great.

Russ, I was going to do that but ran short of time. The best I can say is that the brakes start to lock up at the same time (front/rear)which makes braking much smoother.
