total # of SRT10\'s sold in 2004....

1,782

FYI and really has nothing to do with the above...

Dodge sold 426,289 Ram pickups in 2004.

Anyone know the sales #'s for Gen one and two Vipers per year?

Toby, that's a tough question !!!

As you know, the build numbers are not an exact match with the sale numbers in a given year. (for instance, a previously untitled Gen I was sold the first of Feb. 2005...and THAT is it's "date in service"...or date of sale).

The general build info is a category listed under IVR section of Home Page, once you click on VIN or Viper Registry.

If you find out the SALES info, it will be interesting.

Good luck.

The total number of Vipers sold each year was posted on here in another thread. I'll try to find it.

The interesting thing was that the supposedly 'slow' selling srt-10 is actually one of the best selling year and model Vipers ever.

Yes, almost 1800 sold is a great number. Too bad they didn't build around 1800....

I would expect, when they switch over to building coupes, the production of convertables will be reduced. This could smooth over the supply and demand situation.

hemotox,

I checked the VIN on my 03 SRT-10 and it ended in 501790, so
I\m not sure how accurate the build data is the link, since it only goes to 501777. Anyone got any ideas where the "extra" 03s came from?

They aren't built in VIN order.

I wish they wouldn't sell so many Vipers now. I for one, don't get happy when I see high production numbers. It just makes the car less rare and exclusive. Back in '98, I think they only made about 1200 or so. That is the way it should be.

Re: total # of SRT10\'s sold in 2004....

Toby, there were at least three articles in the old Viper Mag (called Viper Quarterly early on). They ranked the states by what I would call "point of sale"...this may help for an idea of the TOTAL Gen I & II and maybe "flow" of Vipers in this mix...articles were Fall 1996-pages 40-41, Spring 1997-page 43 (for 96 GTS) , then again in the Spring 2000 issue-page 34 (part way thru the 2000 model year). The lead quotes "10,890 Vipers"...then says "California boasts the highest PRODUCTION"...which, of course, we know is a mistake...as they meant sales).

Once you see these articles and compare the numbers (and remember the allottment system at the time...watching in particular NH followed by NE), you'll see that these were NOT DMV registrations but, as noted above, "point of sale" as I recall. From these articles, one can at least get an idea of the sales volume when compared to the production numbers. Though they likely sold with some peaks and valleys...the cars MOVED.

OK, EXPERTS...Take over please !!!

What cannot be easily determined is how many Vipers have survived since 1992.

For example, of the Final Editions, how many exist today?
