Traction Control?

We have an 08 on order from Woodhouse, it will be out first Viper. Bill P. mentioned installation of traction control, first time I heard of this on a Viper. How many of you installed this? I have a lot of experience driving 500 hp Vets on a road course. Its east to kick out the rear end on the Vets, which has not been a problem for me. So I don't think I need traction control on the Viper and it seems to take away from being a Viper. But I thought I'd ask and get some opinions. Also, does it cause other problems or cause codes? Thanks.

I'm new to this forum, so I didn't know this was a sore point. Don't beat on me too much. I agree, I didn't order a Viper to get cup holders, etc. Let's stop the thread here to aviod repeating old information. Thanks.

TC is fine as a user-installed option. No one here would argue with your right to install it. From what I've read, the unit is pretty good, but like you've said... part of the Viper experience is learning how to drive without aides.

Just don't start talking about how Dodge NEEDS to force it down our throats.

Not trying to take business away from Woodhouse, but if you want a RLTC system, you can buy mine CHEAP. The RL TC system is sorta a 'hack' for the viper. it works based on a fuel-cut system (spark cut doesn't work on the vipers). and the unit you need is the TC-8 which hooks into 8 of your cylinders. so you aren't really cutting 10 cylinders... only 8.

In N/A set-ups, the RL works pretty well. boosted i've been fighting it for over 3 years. the RL support people in the UK are quite good. Mark and Woodhouse have tried their best as well, but i'd been working with the RL long before Woodhouse took over the US distribution for woodhouse.

Road racing in a N/A environment it worked. drag racing, forget it. Worse, don't expect it to act as a replacement for learning to drive.

Love the people. Love the idea. Didn't succeed in my set-up.
