was getting gas the other day.. smelled coolant pulled out of station and huge puddle of coolant under car.. checked under hood and upper radiator hose was leaking. was leaking at end of hose so i cut of about 2 inches and reclamped. seems to be working fine.. i see no leaks and no drips anyplace.. but i still smell coolant. i have refilled coolant and have noticed it did get lower.. but again no leaks that i can see anyplace. how much is upper hose ? and can the smell just be the burnoff from the major leak before ?? thanks for any input.. 1995 r/t 10

Check for other sources of coolant loss...especially on a Gen I.

Have you upgraded your head gaskets?

could be the thermostat housing gaskets.

i had this problem on my gen one few months ago. I thought it was the hose but found out it was stupid gaskets.

it only leaked a few drops, but right on a hot spot so the whole damn car smelled like coolant all the time.
