VEC2 MAP sensor settings

A little confused here. When setting up the Model presets what is the difference/advantage between a "internal MAP sensor (analog 1)" versus the "stock MAP sensor (analog 3)" setting. I am re-reading the instructions etc, but so far it is not clear to me which setting to select.

I got the upgrade kit from Roe today and I am currently getting the SW set up and preparing to download the current program from the box. Does the model setting really make a difference for a download?

Got the car without any of the stuff for the VEC2 but Roe has helped me out.

If you "dont" have a s/c go with the stock map as that will allow a finer tune over a broader range in smaller incriments.

That is what I was thinking however the confusion (mine) lies in that both can be run for NA application.

yes they both can be run. I initially ran the internal because my directions or lack of did not include the wire that had to be attached to the stock map sensor.


but the stock map is the one u want.

I confirmed that what was programmed in the car was stock MAP. Now the only problem is the firmware update won't take my original file. Says it is not a cbc file which it was when I saved it. And it was a S106 version. And it won't take the SC file either. I did download the sample file into it so who knows what that will bring.

you are going to have to insert your serial # and code in the first screen.

Did that but will try again. I try to double check all settings, codes, etc before I do anything. But it was late and I was getting tired. What was strange was that it would download a file of some sort. Looking at it in detail showed nothing but a ragged (sharp peak) sine wave with huge amplitudes. It freaked me out until I got the sample file back into it. Did not even want to start the car with what those plots looked like.

Anyone do any logging with the VEC2? Might try some of that this afternoon.

Logging is a great feature. I just connected an Innovate XD-1 into the VEC2. For a no supercharged engin Vec2 is a great tool (must to have tool). Just go slowly with your settings. Try something moderate first. If you want to set up something more agressive you will need a Wideband oxygen sensor. Have a look on new XD-1 kit from Innovate.

In "playing" around with the logging feature, which means just started up the car and watched the rpms, I noticed no oxygen sensor reading. From what I can tell, if they are all hooked up the same, the port for the stock or left bank O2 sensor is open on the master/slave. Have some more studing to do. I know nothing about the XD-1. Will look it up.

Has anyone run just the sample file for the Gen2 stock MAP?
