I have a vibration right at 1800rpm...doesn't matter what speed or gear. Just anytime when the rpms are at 1800rpm.

Any ideas?

Power steering pully? Look at belt & check all pullies. Turn ac on & see if it changes.

If you feel it in the shifter, more so then in the chasis, I would look to the clutch and/or flywheel. A stethoscope should find it pretty easy.

What has been done to the car? Is it stock or has the motor been opened up? Something is out of balance.

When at a stop and idling my car shakes like hell IMO. I was told this: "Welcome to owning a Viper."

Is there something you can actually adjust? Can the balancer bolt be easily adjusted?
Thanks.

If it just started doing this after pulling the trans out, then I would safely say you have a problem with the trans install.

Balancer bolt can be tightened,(torqued) If it came loose you might want a tech to check it out in case it got damaged.

If it just started, common sense says whatever you did has a problem

Yea...but I was wondering what that problem could be...seeing as all we did was back the trans out and put it back in.

Ok...I think I got it down....its either the pilot bearing or the weights on the centerforce clutch

How about something simple, like are you sure the trans is bolted back good and solid, with nothing caught between that would keep it from bolting up straight.

I'll bet Joe's right, those alignment pins "hang up" sometimes.

If anyone has ever seen the centerforce clutch it is easy to explain what happened. When you reinstall the trans it is really hard to maintain the proper angle when you push the trans forward it is easy to screw up some of the weights. These weights are unique to the centerforce product. If you have some of the weights missing or forced out of position it has to vibrate. I am surprised we don't hear more stories about clutches in general that have been damaged during installation .

With that said, I put a centerforce clutch in this year because I needed one and it was the only thing available on short notice. I was scared of it because I had good luck with the spec brand, but, it has been the smoothest shifting clutch that I have had in the car.
